00:10So this Sting energy drink is easily available anywhere in India and especially in Maharashtra.
00:14So my intention is that Sting, this company itself,
00:17they say that this drink is not suitable for children and it's written on their label.
00:21It is not suitable for children.
00:23Still, Sting has been sold to children.
00:25So my main concern was that government should have some controls,
00:28wherein sale of this product to children should be stopped on an immediate basis.
00:33And most alarming thing is the consumption of this product in teenagers is increasing day by day.
00:38And because of this addiction towards the product is increasing.
00:41And in future, this addiction can go towards narcotics and other different directions as well.
00:47Sir, what's your demand over this Sting drink?
00:50See, basically Sting itself says that it is not suitable for children.
00:54Then it itself says that it contains caffeine and there is high caffeine in it.
01:00So just imagine if a single bottle of Sting is having 72 mg of caffeine
01:06and the central government says that you can consume only 400 mg of caffeine in a day
01:11and that too for an adult, not for children.
01:13Consumption of caffeine or selling of caffeine to children is totally illegal in India.
01:18Still, these drinks are being sold, these energy drinks.
01:21And the reason why I'm talking about Sting, this is a very cheap drink.
01:25If you compare with other energy drinks which are available in the market,
01:28this is sold for just 20-25 bucks.
01:30And which is very easily available, a child can go in any supermarket, any market and just grab a drink.
01:36And the problem is that they don't stop at one drink.
01:39Because Sting itself says that maximum consume not more than 500 ml a day.
01:45This is for adults, not for kids.
01:47So adults can't consume more than 2 bottles in a day.
01:50But children are consuming almost 3-4 bottles.
01:52So because of this, in future, definitely our next generation is going to go through heart diseases,
01:58blood pressures and diabetes.

02:03Sir, what kind of restriction made by government?
02:07As of now, government is saying that restriction of sale in 500 meters periphery of the school
02:12would be done from immediate effect.
02:14And this would be compulsory for all the shopkeepers, all the vendors who are within the 500 meters of periphery
02:21of the school.
02:22But my demand is that we should come up with an act similar where tobacco sale to minor is illegal.
02:28Similarly, sale of energy drinks to the minors should also be made illegal
02:31because the product itself says it is not suitable for children.

02:39I got a positive answer, but it's not a satisfactory answer.
02:44So definitely I will take this issue in future.
02:47Because similarly I had taken up the analog cheese and artificial paneer issue
02:51and it is now almost on the verge of closure.
