00:00I saw one of those releases and I don't know if it's exactly three times, but there is a way
00:04to get promoted midseason by winning X amount of times.
00:07I don't know if that's one of the things that overlap is like not specifically disclosed yet, but there is
00:11a way to do it.
00:12Because I do like getting midseason promotions.
00:15I think that's awesome.
00:17I think getting some fresh blood, a good example would be a player like Ben Coles this summer who played
00:21very well in the Corn Fairy Tour and has played his way inside the top 100 just based off of
00:26his performances off of sponsors invites.
00:30In midseason, really strong summer golf by him.
00:35And I would say that if you could somehow promote the top player on the Challenger Series midway through the
00:41season, I know you there's they've already settled on this stuff.
00:43Like the way I see it is if you have the let's say let's use Ben Coles, for example, he's
00:49the number one player on the Challenger Series gets promoted to the championship series.
00:52And so he's like locked in like let's use these years as an example.
00:56He would be locked in for 2028 and he's basically just free roll in the second half of the year
01:01and trying to start from zero with zero points because the points thing is going to be on a different
01:08scale.
01:08Right.
01:09So the Challenger Series points, the championship series points will be the same amount worth for every single event.
01:16But also you're not going to be able to share points back and forth.
01:19So in this world, he'd be at zero and have to play his way into the playoffs, which would be
01:23very, very hard.
01:24But how cool would it be if he did?
01:26You know that?
01:27Yeah, that's like the thing that I find super intriguing.
01:30And that's just again, I think you're going to need more storylines.
01:35And that to me is is interesting.
01:37And I also am a huge advocate.
01:40And I know we're going to go more in depth about this with the PGA Tour criteria, but I'm also
01:44not a fan that the PGA Tour Accelerated U program, that's going straight to the Challenger Series.
01:50I think that is a huge miss.
01:52Well, the top graduate goes championship, correct?
01:55The PGA Tour U.
01:56Oh, PGA Tour U proper.
01:59Accelerated does not.
02:00And I agree with you strong there because, you know.
02:02What are we doing?
02:03I mean, well, I mean, I don't know how they look at that and say, like, because that point of
02:09that, if you're accelerated, that means you got it done faster than waiting the full four years.
02:14And by the way, can you imagine even thing doesn't happen?
02:18Could you imagine if Jackson Coyven gets his car?
02:20It's like, all right, hey, buddy, go go play.
02:22And like, he doesn't play on the President's Cup team, probably.
02:25I mean, he like there's I agree with you wholeheartedly there.
02:28And I feel like that is I think you have to figure out, like, categories there because I understand there's
02:37still time to change it.
02:38There's still time to change it.
02:40And I think they need to.
02:41You have to.
02:42You have to.
02:42I mean, it's and maybe it's one of those things where, I mean, if we're talking about the same example
02:48here, we'll clarify in future episodes.
02:50But, like, if you've got a battlefield promotion from the Challenger Series, the Championship Series, and you're starting at zero
02:56and you're trying to work your way into the playoff that year, you're probably not going to make it top
03:0290.
03:02If you do, then kudos to you.
03:04You played incredibly well.
03:05And if you didn't, then you end up in the sort of last chance category in the fall, playing all
03:09these fall events that are super exciting, have their own narrative.
03:12And so, you know, if you if you throw a PGA Tour, you accelerate a guy in the mixed midseason
03:17starting way behind on points.
03:19He either ends up in that category, goes back down to Challenger the next season, or he wins an event
03:24like Jackson Coivin does.
03:25And he and he probably gets his card the next year.
03:28Either situation is a win for the PGA Tour.
03:30But I agree with you.
03:31That one has to change because of the talent of these guys we're seeing that are qualifying, you know, out
03:36of that category.
