00:00Greg Cosell of NFL Films is going to be on in 15 minutes.
00:05For a living, he breaks down NFL film.
00:11Mop, mop.
00:12I don't know that he wants to break down the NFL film that we just watched.
00:19Well, I think he does NFL.
00:21I don't know if he does TMZ.
00:23So maybe I'm wrong.
00:25Like, he does his NFL show and he's in the lab.
00:28I don't know if he actually breaks down TMZ footage.
00:32We can ask him.
00:33I won't.
00:34So what we're referring to is the fact that the body cam footage of Jed York's arrest has been released
00:43on the World Wide Web.
00:45Wow.
00:46And that's three days after the incident.
00:49Correct.
00:50Kyle Shanahan had a car crash and 11 days later, we actually found out about the accident.
00:55That's really where your mind goes?
00:57That's partly where my mind goes.
00:59This is an arrest.
01:00Right.
01:00Something very illegal happened.
01:03I don't want to go down that rabbit hole.
01:05It's not very illegal, but it's...
01:06It is very illegal.
01:07This was a sting operation.
01:08It's illegal.
01:08Yeah.
01:09The thing that strikes me is when you're on the road and you do something that is noteworthy, then, like,
01:18there's a certain amount of things that happen.
01:20I think when you do something illegal or if there is an intrigue in something that's going on, body cam
01:26footage of Kyle Shanahan, quite frankly, would have been wildly uncomfortable to watch.
01:30Apparently, almost lost his eye.
01:31Anyway, I don't want to see that.
01:33But anyway, I mean, what stood out to you with the Jed York thing?
01:38I'm pretty, like, pedestrian sort of thing where it's like, yeah, you're getting cuffed.
01:45And he's just, he's handcuffed and he's in a T-shirt and he's in, I think, sweatpants and he just
01:50gets walked over to the police car.
01:53And then the last 10 seconds, you have the local officers kind of weigh in on their thoughts on the
02:00fact that he actually was here and he got arrested.
02:02Well, they kind of weighed in with, I think, the same thought that goes through all of our minds.
02:06One of the officers, and I'm paraphrasing, this is not a direct quote, but he goes, it's amazing how certain
02:13people go about doing this when they have the ability to do anything.
02:20They could do this any particular way and they do this.
02:25And they're like, isn't that amazing?
02:26And I think that 90% of us, that's probably one of the first thoughts that went through our heads.
02:32I don't know if you're offended by it.
02:33A lot of people were either offended by it.
02:35Some people, remember our callers, like, this is what men do.
02:38It is like just completely, so maybe you're not offended by it at all.
02:42But I do think it's a very normal response to be like a billionaire on his phone in Palestine, Ohio,
02:51Palestine.
02:52I don't even know how to pronounce it.
02:55And he's in a parking lot.
02:58By the way, not just any T-shirt.
03:00A New York Yankees T-shirt.
03:04Duh!
03:04Duh!
03:04Yeah.
03:06That's what offended me the most.
03:08The cops are here!
03:11What did I do wrong?
03:13Ah, very good.
03:14A few things.
03:16I mean, mainly one thing.
03:19But I'd actually, I would say the body cam footage went almost exactly as I would have imagined it.
03:26Right.
03:26Jed looks stunned.
03:28He does the, you can tell behind his eyes, it's oblique.
03:32They're like, what are you doing here?
03:35And he's kind of like, I'm just driving.
03:38They're like, you're just driving around here?
03:40Yeah.
03:43And then the body cam footage kind of skips forward to them cuffing him.
03:49Took him a little, took him a minute to get the cuffs there on.
03:52But Jed was completely cooperative.
03:55Again, appeared stunned.
03:57And I'm sure had some pretty racy thoughts going through his head in terms of, oh, no, you know, I
04:05mean, what have I done?
04:05Right.
04:06And the other piece of it is you see the officer pull out the money and he can kind of
04:10flash it to the camera.
04:11And he's like, yep, basically like, here's 160 bucks.
04:15The exact amount.
04:16And so he pulls out the money.
04:17Yeah.
04:17And he's like, oh, yep.
04:19And so you can see a little bit of the glee from the sting because it was 160 bucks and
04:25he brought 160.
04:26And I don't know if he didn't have more because when they arrested him, that's all he had.
04:30And so, you know, the cops basically were like, yep, 160 bucks.
04:34We were charging him 160.
04:36We got him red handed.
04:37And they have the, they have the text messages.
04:40Right.
04:40Yeah, that's, that's all you, I mean, I, there was a minute over the last couple of days where I
04:45thought to myself, okay, how did this look?
04:49You, you lure him to an address that doesn't exist.
04:53Therefore, how can you say that you've got him red handed arriving at an address that doesn't exist?
05:00I mean, he, he ended up in a parking lot.
05:03I would think there's at least a reasonable doubt that could be created about what am I doing here?
05:09I mean, I took a wrong turn.
05:11I mean, you could do whatever, but the text messages, right?
05:15They have the text messages.
05:16You have the exact amount of money.
05:18It is beyond a reasonable doubt.
05:20It appears that Jed York and his lawyers eventually agreed based on the way that they handled it.
05:27Yeah.
05:27And I was talking to my father-in-law pop pop about this earlier today.
05:30And he was asking me for my, my breakdown and as it pertained to Robert Kraft.
05:35And he said, what about Robert Kraft?
05:36And I said, well, Robert Kraft chose from his massage situation.
05:41He chose to fight it because he felt like there was inadmissible video.
05:45And so he spent 18 months going about fighting it and he won.
05:49So if you want to go that route, like could Jed York have said, you know, I was just like
05:54driving around East Palestine looking for, you know, aluminum cans.
05:58Cause I'm passionate about recycling and I heard there was a lot of cans there.
06:02And so that's why I was there.
06:04Like he could have tried to fight it in a certain way, but he looked at it and said, you
06:09know what?
06:09I'd rather like plead down and be done with it.
06:12But Robert Kraft, he fought it.
06:14So Robert Kraft was not ever charged or convicted, blah, blah, blah.
06:19But did that help his reputation there?
06:21Not at all.
06:22I mean, well, to a degree, he gets to kiss.
06:24He gets to keep owning the team.
06:26He gets to keep being.
06:27So does Jed for now.
06:29For now.
06:29For now.
06:31Does he continue to get to be the front facing person with the Niners long term?
06:37I don't know.
06:37I really don't.
06:38This stuff gets affected by things like that.
06:41It really does.
06:42Here's a piece of it.
06:43This is the beginning of the arrest of Jed York over the weekend in Ohio.
06:47Don't move.
06:48Don't.
06:48Don't do anything.
06:49Unbuckle slowly.
06:51Slowly do it.
06:52That's out of the car.
06:54Put your hands on the car.
06:56Yeah, that's what you're doing.
06:57Spread your feet for me.
06:59Can I ask what you're doing?
07:01What are you doing here?
07:03Just driving.
07:04You meeting anybody?
07:05No.
07:06Just driving.
07:07Are you meeting anybody?
07:08No.
07:09Turns out I'm meeting you guys.
07:11Right.
07:12So, that's all from TMZ.
07:16The body cam footage from the police officers.
07:18I think the piece that actually, quote, helps him is he does not sound belligerent at 930 in the morning.
07:24He is not combative.
07:26He's not evasive.
07:27He's a little bit like I think anybody would be, which is like, I mean, what's the problem?
07:33What are you guys doing?
07:33I'm just driving.
07:34And until they're like, well, you're not just driving.
07:37And you sought us out.
07:39And here we are.
07:40And so, now we go from that to this.
07:42And so, I don't know.
07:44For me, it wasn't a situation where you hear him and he's like, well, I was just driving.
07:49No, he just was there.
07:51Right.
07:51There's no DUI.
07:52Right.
07:53And he got caught.
07:54And I don't think that beyond that, like what we played, then he gets out of the car and he
07:58gets cuffed and he just, you know, he goes to the car.
08:01Yeah.
08:01I mean, to be honest with you, I think all of our minds to a certain degree, when stuff like
08:07this happens, you wonder what's coming next.
08:09You know what I mean?
08:10You do wonder.
08:12Is this a one-time thing?
08:15Do you do this every day?
08:16Are people going to start coming forward?
08:19And I know a lot of people go, you know, this wasn't the first time he did.
08:23I mean, probably not, but that's not even relevant because there's no proof to it.
08:29In other words, that to me is all you're now waiting for if you are the 49er organization.
08:36Is this going to go somewhere next or is this the end of the line where you got caught doing
08:42something one time and this body cam footage is another step on the staircase?
08:48And I think to your point, nothing really bad happened here.
08:51Not belligerent, did not resist.
08:54There was just nothing.
08:56It's a stunned person who realizes he just messed up something awful, got out of the car, had cuffs put
09:03on him.
09:04End of story.
09:05Like the only way this can get worse is if 28 people come forward and suggest that this is happening
09:12constantly.
09:13Yeah, and I was saying this to my father-in-law earlier about the Tiger Woods comp and, you know,
09:18Tiger Woods did not do this in terms of paying.
09:20But when we found out that he got in an accident and his then wife tried to rescue him from
09:27the car with a nine iron and then everything that unraveled beyond that was like, oh, my goodness.
09:32And it seemed like one after another, it was like, bam, bam, bam.
09:36And it turned out to be, I don't even remember how many other people who came forward.
09:40So if this becomes that, well, it's a different story.
09:43If this was a one-off and he made a mistake, I do think that he is a one-page
09:48statement away from, you know, getting his six-week punishment, a million bucks, whatever it is.
09:54Yep.
09:55Yep.
09:55I mean, you're probably right.
09:56I mean, the other thing that's relevant, I hate talking about this stuff, to be honest with you, but when
10:00you compare it to Tiger Woods or Deshaun Watson, in theory, the people who are the quote-unquote victims are
10:08not doing anything illegal.
10:09You're either a masseuse or a waitress or whatever.
10:13In this particular case, the people that, I mean, if Jed was going to see a lot of people, like,
10:20they're committing a crime, too, in theory.
10:22So I sort of think this might be it.
10:27What the hell if I know?
10:29But that's kind of how I feel about it right now, based on seeing this.
10:33Yeah.
10:33Not a whole lot to freak out about on this one from the standpoint of Jed York.
10:38Just more, I mean, it's embarrassing.
10:42It already was.
10:43And now you get to go watch it if you want.
10:46Yeah.
10:46Yeah.
10:47And this, to me, is not any more embarrassing.
10:49I think that he, as far as being arrested, and I've never been arrested, he kind of comported himself in
10:55a pretty classy and normal fashion.
