00:00All right, let's take you to North Central now, where severe storms brought rivers of hail to parts of Wisconsin
00:05yesterday.
00:06We're going to be dealing with more in the way of severe weather and a lot of different hazards,
00:11a lot of different severe weather threats over the next few days into the weekend in various parts of the
00:16North Central U.S. as well.
00:17Now, in the short term, we've got two areas facing a severe weather risk that are a bit more heightened,
00:22from Wyoming to Colorado and also into Kansas and parts of southwest Missouri, northern Oklahoma as well.
00:28Well, damaging wind and hail are the main concerns, but there will be isolated tornadoes out here.
00:32So, again, a lot of different moving parts, a lot of hazards.
00:35And as we zoom in on the area of Denver, Colorado, some of these storms this evening, nasty in the
00:39general vicinity of Denver.
00:41And into the High Plains, damaging wind and hail are the big issues there.
00:44Let's go into Wichita, Kansas.
00:46Here we've had some strong storms nearby, and we're going to have the risk of some flash flooding in various
00:50parts of the Sunflower State.
00:52Damaging wind, flash flooding, and hail this evening and into tonight.
00:55These are going to be slow movers and not just restricted to Kansas, moving into southwest Missouri.
01:01Friday, more numerous thunderstorms in the area around the Ohio Valley.
01:05Some showers north.
01:06Great Lakes look like a pretty good place to be, actually, for the western Great Lakes,
01:09but look just a little farther south in the Ohio Valley.
01:12In the mid-Atlantic states, hail, damaging wind, as well as some localized flash flooding.
01:17So it's going to be a stormy Friday for many here into the area around the Ohio Valley.
01:22Temps held down slightly for some, still steamy down to the south of the main storm zone.
01:27Bowling Green, Nashville, Jackson, some of these areas near the Kentucky-Tennessee line will be kind of juxtaposed there,
01:33right where you have the combination of heat and also instability.
01:38Farther north, a little cooler.
01:39Farther south, dry, but not, again, not the searing heat that we're going to see next week when temperatures ramp
01:46up.
01:46So Friday, 4 p.m. Eastern, 3 Central, scattered strong storms from the lower part of the Missouri and northern
01:53Arkansas area
01:54all the way up into the Ohio Valley.
01:56This is going to be a drenching setup here in parts of the northeast,
01:59but the Ohio Valley continues to face rounds of storms into Saturday, so look out for some of that.
02:06And, again, some areas here facing significant flash flood threats as we close out the work week through Friday night.
02:12So for some of you, about a 48-hour window Wednesday night through Friday night, we're looking at 4 to
02:168 inches of rain
02:17eastern Kansas into areas like southern Illinois in a narrow stripe.
02:21There will be kind of a northward movement here with some of the drenching rain late Friday night,
02:27even as far north as I-70 and I-80.
02:29But as we step west of that area, we begin to shift our attention into the northern plains for the
02:35weekend.
02:36So Saturday, gusty thunderstorms, isolated tornadoes, large hail in the western Dakotas and eastern parts of Montana.
02:43This area here, we've got kind of just a pretty diverse mix of ingredients leading to this medium risk.
02:50Warmth is there, moisture is there, and a moderate dip in the jet stream.
02:54And then we're going to see a big round of heat expand into the Ohio Valley into next week.
02:59But around the periphery of this, the ring of fire.
03:02Strong thunderstorms will tumble through the northernmost plains and the New England states as well.
