00:00The Li Auto I8, an all-electric SUV from China, is about to be launched on the market and comes with impressive technical specifications.
00:09This elegant family vehicle measures approximately 5.1 meters in length, 2.0 meters in width and 1.7 meters in height, with a wheelbase of around 3.1 meters.
00:19With a body shape that reduces aerodynamic drag and an in-house developed silicon kibit power module, the Li Auto I8 offers remarkably efficient driving performance.
00:32The low energy consumption of just 13.4 kWh per 100 kilometers of driving distance is particularly noteworthy.
00:41The SUV is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers a combined peak output of 544 horsepower.
00:49The front electric motor contributes 204 horsepower, while the rear one delivers 340 horsepower.
00:57This allows the vehicle to reach a top speed of up to 180 kilometers per hour.
01:02Despite its size and impressive curb weight of around 2.6 tons, the Li Auto I8 impresses with its efficiency.
01:09There are two battery variants with ternary NMC cells to choose from.
01:13The basic version has a 90.1 kWh battery, manufactured by CATL or Sunwater, and enables a range of up to 670 kilometers according to the CLTC standard.
01:26This battery weighs 545 kilograms, which corresponds to around 20% of the total vehicle weight.
01:33The top variant comes with a 97.8-hour battery from CATL and enables a range of up to 720 kilometers.
01:44This battery is only slightly heavier at 564 kilograms and, despite its higher capacity, has a slightly higher energy consumption of 30.6 kWh per 100 kilometers.
01:55By comparison, the Ito M9 EV, a potential competitor, has a 100 kWh battery, but requires 17.4 kWh per 100 kilometers and thus only achieves a range of 630 kilometers.
02:11The charging system of the Li Auto I8 is particularly noteworthy.
02:20Equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage system, the SUV can charge up to a range of 500 kilometers in just 10 minutes.
02:28This represents a significant step forward in terms of the everyday suitability of electric vehicles.
02:34Inside, the Li Auto I8 offers modern technology and a high level of comfort.
02:38Two 5.7-inch displays each dominate the center console.
02:44Supported by a head-up display and a D-shaped steering wheel.
02:48The seating arrangement is designed for 6 people and has a 2 plus 2 layout, which is particularly suitable for families.
02:57The Li Auto I8 will be available in China starting at around 54,000 euros.
03:03The sales country was originally planned for the previous year.
03:06However, this was postponed due to weak sales figures for the all-electric Li Auto Mega Mini Band.
03:14The final market launch is now planned for July 2025.
03:19Expansion into international markets is also planned for the future,
03:22which means that the IEKT is likely to be an important step in Li Auto's global strategy.
