00:01Max Scherzer home debut as a New
00:04York Met certainly has plenty of
00:05comfort pitching in this
00:07ballpark as an opposing player.
00:10Now he gets to experience for
00:12the first time in orange and
00:13blue.
00:15Mike Estremski leads off to two
00:17coming swing and a miss.
00:18He struck him out Scherzer with
00:20a fastball fans.
00:21Estremski for the first out of
00:22game two.
00:23Going right after you
00:25Estremski three for twelve in
00:27his career against Max and it's
00:29been there call strike three
00:30I'm looking at a backdoor
00:32cutter beautifully done by
00:34Scherzer back to back strikeouts
00:36to start the night and that
00:37lineup will face the Giants
00:38right hander Logan Webb yeah and
00:40he's on for his third start this
00:42year check the numbers out want
00:43to know the one two nine and
00:44fourteen innings pitch only nine
00:45hits 10 strikeouts Brandon
00:47Nimmo tested positive for
00:48COVID and now has the negative
00:50test to allow him to be back on
00:52the active roster he scored the
00:53winning run in extra innings in
00:55game one and Logan Webb makes
00:56short work of Brandon Nimmo to
00:58no hitters in 2015 one of them
01:00here of course when he struck
01:01out 17 Mets one base runner in
01:05that game came on there I think
01:06right yes one two swing and a
01:09miss got him with the back foot
01:10slider third strikeout for
01:11Scherzer as he takes care of
01:13Crawford for the second out all
01:15the pitches of Max are spot on
01:18so far a one two to Estrada
01:20check swing in the dirt did he
01:22go he went around strike three
01:24and that retires the side one
01:26about nobody on third inning
01:27Jason Bosler the batter no
01:29balls and two strikes Scherzer
01:31nods in agreement with Nito he's
01:32ready from the wind up his pitch
01:34swing and a miss strike three
01:36cutter down and in or three for
01:39six in the doubleheader now the
01:40game winning hit in game one and
01:42he pulls one on the ground for a
01:44base hit toward the line goes
01:46Yastrzemski Lindor is going to
01:47try for two Yastrzemski throw to
01:49second base not in time and
01:51Lindor is two for two so he went
01:53the other way his first time up
01:55this time gets a ball he can
01:57pull and he's got himself his
01:59second double of the day Escobar
02:01took one the other way for a
02:02base hit against Webb his first
02:04time up in this game two for
02:05four now in the doubleheader
02:07Lindor at third Alonzo at first
02:09with two out as the Mets try and
02:10break through against Webb in
02:12the third eighth pitch of the
02:14at bat coming from Webb to
02:15Escobar and he pulls one on the
02:17ground past bell face and the
02:19Mets take the lead Lindor is in
02:22line Alonzo being waved around
02:23third the relay throw to the
02:25plate by Estrada Alonzo slides
02:27in safely it's a two run double
02:29for Eduardo Escobar and the Mets
02:32jump in front to nothing in the
02:33third what a great turn it back
02:36by Escobar and the Mets again
02:39beat built down the line and this
02:42one plates to Adam Smith and he
02:45drives one into center field
02:47that's a base hit Escobar around
02:49third he'll come in to score
02:50Dom Smith drives it a run with a
02:52two out single and it's three
02:54nothing New York and Logan Webb
02:57is on the ropes like I said
02:59before just a really nice
03:00approach by this offense against
03:03one of the premier pitchers in
03:05the game one to come in a rough
03:08struck him a great change up by
03:10Scherzer for a sixth strike out
03:12of the night Duggars the only
03:14guys hit the ball hard against
03:15Scherzer in this game lined out
03:16the center field two two Scherzer
03:19delivers swung out and missed
03:22strike three got him with a
03:23fastball at ninety five stick
03:26around call your friends it's
03:28starting to get interesting no
03:30hits allowed by Scherzer through
03:31five the fourteenth time in his
03:34career that Max Scherzer has no
03:37hit a team through five innings
03:39and the current ball in there for
03:40a call strike three Scherzer
03:43drops a hammer he's got his
03:44eighth strikeout Kurt Casale has
03:47been the only base runner
03:48tonight three to come in and he
03:51struck him out nine strikeouts
03:55for Scherzer he's fanned the
03:56first two in the sixth 2015 when
04:00he had that remarkable game here
04:01with 17 strikeouts the slider
04:03here just perfectly placed so now
04:06Scherzer after striking out the
04:08first two in the sitting has
04:09walked the next two all of a
04:11sudden Darren Ruff comes to the
04:13plate representing the tying
04:14run is the one one line in the
04:17left field and rough has the
04:18first Giants hit and that'll
04:20bring in a run this drum ski
04:21scampers in the score the throw
04:23goes to second base an RBI
04:25single for Darren Ruff breaks up
04:27Scherzer's no hit pin and gets
04:29the Giants within two it's now
04:30three to one a nice hand for
04:34Scherzer after he goes five and
04:36two thirds without allowing a
04:39hit could change up maybe the
04:41best pitch he's thrown in the
04:42last three batters but good
04:44hitting by rough dumps it into
04:46left field for an RBI six and
04:48two thirds for Scherzer he's
04:49allowed one hit a hundred and
04:51four times in his career Max
04:53Scherzer has struck out ten or
04:54more a hundred and four time in
04:59there strike three called he
05:01dropped a change up on him on
05:03oh and two and it gets Doug or
05:05looking for his tenth strike out
05:07of the night two well Sally at
05:10first Brandon Belt he's got a
05:13homerun power 0 for two of the
05:14walk three to round ball right
05:17side into the shift charging
05:19Guillaume on the one side
05:21retired the center and he's
05:25popped to short two to come and
05:28hit on the ground sharply nice
05:31play Lindor gets to his feet two
05:34down Francisco Lindor has been
05:36everywhere in this double
05:38header he's here he's there he's
05:40every bleeping where Lindor you
05:43know some door sometimes you
05:44want to put your players in the
05:46right position but you need the
05:48good athletes to make great
05:49plays Brandon Crawford 0 for 3
05:52and beat the Mets five out of
05:53six last year that's trying to
05:55take two in one day one two
05:57coming he struck him out and the
05:59ballgame is over Trevor May puts
06:02on the finishing touches on a
06:04double header sweep for the New
06:06York Mets
