00:01Christian Scott's last start was
00:03on August 28th nine days ago the
00:05largest one hit but walked five
00:07against the Astros drew Gilbert
00:09leads off against him Scott
00:11deals swing on a liner in the air
00:13to left not terribly deep more
00:15abito moving towards the line
00:16makes the one hand catch and
00:18there's one away and the red hot
00:20smoking hot Rafael Devers will be
00:23the batter he's got six home runs
00:25and seven walks in a six game
00:27span that's the best for any
00:28Giants as Barry Bonds now the
00:30pitch swung out and missed strike
00:32three and he took a little bit of
00:34a different route there it was a
00:36cutter and Devers looking for that
00:38ninety eight swung through ninety
00:40one so here's Bryce Eldridge left
00:42hand battered the two two hit
00:44weakly on the ground back to the
00:45mound grabbed by Scott runs towards
00:47first and underhands to the
00:49endos in time to retire the side
00:51well cost him 20 pitches but Scott
00:54works a one two three first a guy
00:55we saw earlier on this road trip
00:57he did not make his major league
00:58debut now today Cesar Perdomo makes
01:01his first big league start tries to
01:02set up the off speed stuff and he's
01:04got really good pitch IQ one one
01:06pitch bounced right back to Perdomo
01:09he drops it picks it back up
01:11calmly flips it over the first to
01:13Eldridge for the out and Lindor is
01:15retired Soto the left handed hitter
01:17facing the young left hander a one
01:19one Soto lines it to right field
01:21that's a base hit Juan Soto has the
01:23first Mets hit a one-out single
01:26Bichette betting at 264 15 homers
01:2968 runs batted in he was the D.H.
01:31yesterday went 0 for 4 swing and a
01:33miss he struck him out with a high
01:35fastball got him to chase up high
01:37climbs the ladder that's a good spot
01:38for him he needs to be up out of the
01:40zone change eye level Eldridge will
01:42play behind the runner at first there
01:44goes the runner the pitch swung on and
01:46missed he struck him out with a changeup
01:47and Benj very disgustedly throws the
01:50bat to the ground Cox betting at 2
01:5291 with four homers 10 runs batted
01:54in Scott deals swung on and missed
01:57strike three got him with a fastball
01:59Scott's got a second punch out one
02:01away we will be the batter 3 1 to
02:05Lee swung on it high in the air to
02:07right field it's deep Benj appears
02:09to have a beat on it edge of the
02:11track now makes the catch a two hand
02:13catch for the second out two out
02:15nobody on top second the 0 2
02:17fastball in there strike three call
02:20dotted the outside edge at 97 and
02:23that retires the side last of the
02:25second Mets nothing Giants nothing
02:27Mark Vientos leads off got him with
02:29the change up again strike three you
02:32know you kind of want to get beat
02:33with your best pitch and I feel
02:34like that's his change up it'll
02:36bring up Marcus Simeon the 1 1 hit
02:38hard up the middle that'll raise it
02:40a tick base hit going into center
02:42field and Simeon delivers a one
02:45ounce single on the second hit for
02:47the Mets and that will bring up
02:48right hand hitting Nick Morabito on
02:51the ground Basabe has it there's one
02:54and the throw to first is not in
02:56time that was Cox trying to be the
02:59pivot man on the double play Morabito
03:01just too fast after the little knock
03:03down from Basabe there goes the run of
03:05the pitch take and the throw down to
03:06second and the tag by Kos he's out great
03:10throw there by Kavanaugh very strong
03:13throw with Morabito running on first
03:16motion ending over we go to the third
03:19McRae will be coming up we go to the
03:21third inning it's the Mets nothing and
03:22the Giants nothing bottom third of the
03:24San Francisco order up against
03:26Christian Scott fastball lifted in the
03:28air to left toward the corner long run
03:30for Morabito he jumps and he makes the
03:33catch in foul ground down the left
03:36field line there's not a lot of room
03:38down either of the lines this one's in
03:40left as he's running toward the chalk
03:42he jumps into the air knowing that the
03:44wall is there he's ready to brace for
03:46impact so nice catch by Morabito one of
03:48many two two to Kavanaugh popped up
03:51shallow left Lindor out waving his
03:54arms backpedaling makes the catch two
03:56down here's Christian Babe Ruth Koss
03:59who hit two home runs yesterday first
04:01pitch to Koss drilled out to right
04:02center field bench over to the gap
04:05makes the catch and that retires the
04:07side and Christian Scott's gone right
04:09down the line we go to the last of the
04:11third Mets and Giants no score AJ
04:13Ewing leading off Ewing rips it through
04:15the right side base hit going into right
04:17field right between Eldridge and Cox
04:19so Ewing hits it now back to back
04:22games of this series strike three we
04:25got a challenge coming I thought that
04:27was a strike and a change up on the
04:29inside corner filthy at strike three
04:31post confirmed New York has one
04:33challenge remaining hits dribble toward
04:36third Basabi to his left picks it up
04:37wings it to second for one throw to
04:39first got it double play around the
04:41horn five four three the Mets may want
04:44to challenge this Andy Green has his
04:46hand extended on the field out at first
04:48base New York is challenge runner is
04:50safe New York retains the job I marked a
04:53double plan like cars but that's why
04:55they invented whiteout well that's what
04:57I'm doing right now Soto now swings and
04:59pops one up over on the right side it is
05:02Jonah Cox shielding his eyes from the
05:04sun and right on the edge of the outfield
05:06grass for the Giants Gilbert Devers and
05:08Eldridge Scott's payoff Gilbert cuts and
05:11misses four strikeouts this afternoon for
05:14Christian Scott well here is the aforementioned
05:16Raphael Devers Scott trying to beat him
05:18here two two pitch swing and a miss same
05:21pitch he put him away with in the first
05:23inning the cutter up back-to-back strikeouts
05:26from Scott two down for Eldridge who
05:28swings and lines it into right field a
05:30base hit Eldridge got a breaking ball and
05:32that was up first hit and the first base
05:34runner of this game for the Giants here's
05:37Jonah Cox as Cox swings grounds it right side
05:40and that's through past the diving Simeon out
05:43into right center Benj a long way to get it
05:45Eldridge around second heading for third he's
05:48gonna make it is the throw there well late and
05:51on a hop and with that throw going to third
05:54Jonah Cox using his great speed goes into
05:58second it was interesting because that
06:00throw came in and it was not a bad throw by
06:02Benj I think it would have been to
06:04somebody but there was nobody there and I
06:07don't know what the shortstop Lindor was
06:10waiting for he was still standing at shortstop
06:12with nobody at second base after rounding
06:15first base is starting to slow up then
06:17Cox re-accelerated it and made it there
06:20easily now Chung-Hoo Lee swings a broken
06:22bat little bloop shallow right going out of
06:24Simeon it'll fall a base hit Eldridge scores Cox
06:29right behind him and he'll score without a
06:32throw Chung-Hoo Lee a broken bat bloop and he
06:37just got it past the second baseman Simeon two
06:40runs in and the Giants take a two nothing
06:43lead so Perdomo moving right along second
06:46time through he'll see Mark Vientos Perdomo
06:49delivers and Vientos hits a bouncer to short big
06:52hop costs able to field as he sets his feet and
06:55fires to first for the out excellent shut down
06:59inning there we go to the fifth inning at
07:01Citi Field the Giants ahead of the Mets two
07:03to nothing Grant McCray will lead it off for
07:05San Francisco one two to McCray swung on and
07:07missed strike three nasty split by Christian
07:10Scott and that's his sixth strikeout and it'll
07:12bring up the number eight hitter Drew
07:13Kavanaugh swing and there's a pop fly
07:16shallow right field falling falling in there
07:19base hit for Kavanaugh and here comes
07:22Christian cause there's a swing a ground
07:24ball up the first base side a squibber it
07:27hits off the glove of the end shows right
07:28near the bag ricochets high in the air and
07:30bounces out into shallow right field so the
07:33Giants have runners at second and third with
07:35one out here's the one two swung on and
07:38missed strike three so he does strike him out
07:40with a split and now here comes Andy Green so I
07:44guess he's going to go to Lavender and they'll
07:46pitch to Devers here really no fault of Christian
07:48Scott's here in this inning two two pitch in
07:52there strike three called he freezes Devers with a
07:55fastball and that retires the side so Andy
07:58Green said go get Devers never mind the other
08:01lefty on deck and there were two men out in this
08:03top of the sixth inning Giants two runs four
08:06hits no errors the Mets no runs three hits one
08:08error here in the sixth inning 1-0 to Lee it's
08:12softly in the air to right coming on bench dives
08:14forward he makes a Swoboda catch in right
08:17center field if you go back to the 1969 World
08:21Series channel the catch that Ron Swoboda made
08:25fast forward 57 years of course a lot less
08:29significance but Carson Bench just made the
08:31same catch and so Perdomo allows his first
08:34walk remember now he's beginning his third
08:36time through the order Juan Soto could
08:38really get in the way right here third time
08:40through it Soto on the ground Eldridge he'll
08:43step on the bag and now throws the throw
08:46back tag got him double play and so
08:51Soto hits it hard but grounds into two
08:53outs and the Mets are done in the sixth
08:56hold on hold on they're going to
08:57challenge this are the Mets runner is out
09:00New York loses their challenge out double
09:02play never doubt got him Puno yesterday
09:06threw a lot behind in the count and here
09:08he is at it again infill back around to
09:10the right the 3-1 rip toward first beyond
09:13the reach of Eldridge and that disappears
09:15down the right field corner Bench without a
09:17helmet hits first he's on his way to
09:19second slows up with a one out double
09:21here come the Mets as Carson Bench with
09:24an emphatic handshake as he looks back
09:26into the dugout to try to ignite the
09:28boys the Sabe a diving stab and he had
09:34time to throw out young Bench goes to
09:37third he's there with two outs so Marcus
09:39Simeon coming up Mets chasing two in the
09:42seventh Simeon out to center field Jonah
09:45Cox will circle under it Bench trying to
09:49get him going with a one out double but
09:51he's stranded at third we go to the
09:52eighth Joel Kunal with a scoreless
09:54inning Carson Seymour comes on to do the
09:56pitching for the Giants Morabito do the
09:59lead off but Brent Beatty is going to
10:01hit for Morabito and the lefty righty
10:04switch the one one swung on it high in
10:06the air to left field and deep Gilbert
10:08going back onto the track at the wall he
10:10jumps and it is gone a home run a pinch
10:14hit opposite field home run for Brett
10:17Beatty just beyond the reach of left
10:19fielder Drew Gilbert and off the railing
10:22above the orange stripe to the left of the
10:24three fifty eight mark so Brett Beatty it's
10:28his ninth home run of the year and the
10:30Giants lead is cut to two to one oh we've
10:32got a one run game now and here's
10:34Ewing who's one for two you elects
10:37one the other way for a base hit and
10:39now the time one is on base with
10:41nobody else so a sacrifice three
10:43unassisted and that tying man is in
10:46scoring position and now the Mets
10:47have the top of the order coming up
10:50out to right and Jug who makes a
10:54sliding catch picked it clean Ewing
10:58tags and goes to thirds it's an
11:00interesting spot when you got Soto
11:02up you pitch to him and maybe that's
11:05part of the prescription here they
11:06don't want to give Soto anything to
11:07hit and that's the case you might as
11:10well do what they are going to do
11:12now and that's put them on all
11:13together sets up the righty righty
11:15matchup against a good hitter Bo
11:17Bichette and the breaking ball hit
11:20deep to left field back goes
11:22Gilbert near the wall it's out of
11:24here what Soto in front of me I'll
11:29go to the shot brings the house
11:32down with a sixteenth home run of
11:34the year and the Mets go in front
11:36four to two took a first pitch
11:38fastball and gets a hanging
11:41breaking ball sounded like thunder
11:44up here in the booth the Giants
11:46jumped out of the frag pan and in
11:48the bones fire could I think is
11:51five for five and save
11:52opportunities he goes for number
11:53six today a chance to save his
11:56entire season with his work as a
11:58closer so two down nobody on here
12:00is Basabe who is 0 for 3 in the
12:02game now the pitch swung on and
12:04missed strike three got him with a
12:06fourth ball put it in the box
12:08Kodai Senga six for six now and
12:11save opportunities the Mets with a
12:13four run eighth inning on homers by
12:16first Beatty and then a three run
12:18homer by Bo Bichette have given the
12:21Mets the win as they take the
12:22game series from the Giants two
12:24games to one.
