00:00The series I thought heading into the weekend was the Dodgers and the Brewers.
00:04It did not disappoint last night, Greg, although Diaz and that bullpen,
00:09oh, that was ugly again to Dodgers.
00:12But the Brewers being the Brewers, figuring out ways to be able to scrape out,
00:17you know, being scrappy.
00:19And it wasn't the long ball this time that did Diaz or the Dodgers in.
00:24It was a bunch of singles, a couple of doubles.
00:26Next thing you know, they're up one run heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.
00:31Yeah, look, you know, I don't know why anybody should be surprised that Diaz would struggle.
00:36I mean, the guy hasn't pitched all season, you know.
00:38So, but, you know, there is something to be said.
00:41And I do like Dave Roberts, but there's something to be said for, you know,
00:44maybe time to pivot just for a bit, bring him into some less stressful situations
00:48and use Tanner Scott or use someone else.
00:50Unless, is Tanner Scott hurt?
00:52Am I missing something?
00:52Or they do have some other options, I believe, to get outs in the ninth inning.
00:57But, look, they paid Diaz a lot of money.
00:58They used them all last night.
01:01Look, they got to get Edwin Diaz right.
01:05And I understand that they want to get him right for the postseason.
01:07But, look, maybe right now is the time to, like, let him ease in a little bit
01:11as opposed to using him in the ninth.
01:14I agree.
01:15They have plenty enough arms in that bullpen to be able to at least weather the storm here
01:21and get him right for once the postseason rolls around.
01:25And they got the right guy in a mound tonight.
01:27Yamamoto is going here tonight.
01:30And that should give at least going up against Gasser for the Brewers here.
01:37Listen, the Brewers aren't going to beat you with a lot of long ball, right?
01:40So, can they keep it close enough and low scoring enough where they'll have a chance once that
01:47bullpen gets involved again?
01:49But the Brewers did use a lot of their back end of the bullpen last night, holding on to
01:53win that game.
01:55And when it they did to beat the Dodgers, you know, I was a little iffy on the Brewers here.
02:01They didn't look great against the Padres there.
02:04And I thought they were down 4-2 heading into the top of the ninth.
02:08And I said, well, forget about it.
02:09They're not going to hit a home run to beat you.
02:11But as it turns out, they didn't need the home run to beat them.
02:15And that is Brewer baseball to a tee right now, isn't it?
02:19Yeah, Brewers just, you know, again, they play so many close games.
02:23I think if you just took the Brewer, if you honestly could fade the Brewers a little bit
02:29by going plus one and a half on the other team, you're just not going to win the game.
02:33But you're going to play a lot of close games.
02:36Milwaukee just always keeps it close.
02:38I believe they're at the bottom or near the bottom in terms of home runs this season.
02:42But yet they're still just so amazing out of the bullpen.
02:45So Milwaukee just keeps rolling.
02:47They're on pace, Joe, to win, I believe, 98 games or 99 games.
02:51So, I mean, they're going to hit close to 100 this year.
02:54It's really impressive.
