00:00Northwest Ambulance Service is investigating whether staff inappropriately accessed the patient records of victims of the Southport attack.
00:09A report obtained by the Health Service Journal says 10 individuals may have viewed information without a legitimate reason, and
00:16patients were not informed at the time.
00:19The Trust says it has now launched a formal investigation and will contact affected families as inquiries continue.
00:25The Trust's chief executive said any inappropriate access to patient information will be treated extremely seriously.
00:34This comes after it emerged in May that 48 staff at Liverpool hospitals had accessed the records of Southport victims
00:42with no good reason.
