00:00what degree do you think cincinnati and ultimately texas tech knew about that this and what is their
00:06culpability in this whole situation yeah i they may get investigated there's no no question when
00:13this was going on this long i don't know what the potential penalties would be i mean but the
00:17if you've had a gambling addiction and i'm not making allegations against cincinnati it would
00:23be tough not to know in a lot of ways that you have a player that's or once it's brought
00:28to
00:28your attention um it'd be tough you know not to to look the other way so to speak but i'm
00:35sure
00:35cincinnati and texas and texas tech will get a little scrutiny here um the the agent's going to
00:42say what he wants now right i mean that was kind of you you always see that now that this
00:47has happened
00:48this is the fallout and of all the pieces that have come out since whether it was soresby statement or
00:54texas tech statement his agent statement certainly is the uh the most interesting and and i think
00:59most of us thought that you know okay how did how did he have the all these you know bets
01:05come in who
01:05was paying attention and uh you know so cincinnati and texas tech may come under the microscope a
01:11little bit yeah he really went scorched earth there now i don't want to put any names out there but
01:16i do
01:16have a couple buddies at cincinnati so i naturally asked him this question if they knew they were placing
01:21he was placing bets and a couple of them did know i think it was like in 2023 or 2024
01:27they knew that he
01:28was placing a couple bets here and there so if the players knew about it there's a good chance that
01:32the
01:32program knew about it and then at that point yeah i could see them being under investigation yeah i just
01:37don't know what the potential penalties will be i mean uh i would understand i would guess that
01:43they'll be relatively light if they do because they're trying to i i think the ncaa if they're hoping here
01:50that okay maybe another student athlete challenges this you know because soarsby only got two games
01:57but as all these student athletes are going to see look at the reaction there was to potentially
02:04having a player who gambled on his team's suit up you know or gamble to this extent and i would
02:10say
02:11this i i think for college athletes i guess i don't have a huge problem if they gamble on like
02:16nfl or nba
02:18or if they threw a couple dollars down on the world cup i think it maybe you can find it
02:23to ncaa sports
02:24like you can't bet but i mean that's probably being a little liberal with the rules but i could see
02:30that
02:30they they made that rule though that they i think they're allowed to bet on professional sports now
02:34right yeah it just can't be at the facility right yeah which i honestly i don't have a problem if
02:40they're doing betting on sports that are other than their own you know in college like as long as
02:44you're not betting on your own stuff that's always been that's the irony with the soarsby situation
02:49is that's always been the rule where you know soarsby's at indiana and he's betting on you know
02:54a baylor texas tech basketball game what the heck does that have to do with what he's doing now as
02:59long as you're following the guidelines and the rules that you have out there i wanted to move on a
03:04little bit i was looking at some of your sec schedule rankings bill it said you guys put together
03:08a formula and you try to then i appreciate the way you do this because when people talk about
03:13schedule rankings there's a high degree of subjectivity to it so you guys try to put uh
03:21objective ranking element to it with a little formula and trying to spit out some numbers that
03:26are hard and fast how what went into that formula to be able to to give it that objectivity
03:31and trying to to rank those teams yeah i mean i i keep it simple right like you you look
03:38at how
03:38many ranked opponents at least in our sporting news top 25 okay how many ranked opponents are you
03:44playing you know and then you kind of total that up like the ap pool you know so if if
03:49ohio state's
03:50playing number four texas for example that's 22 points of strength of schedule and then and then you
03:56look from home and road games and you just add a couple points there either way and you know we
04:01put
04:01together a formula for the sec and the big 10 and ran through it and i liked looking at it
04:07because it
04:07gives me a little little bit of a gauge of okay this team's got a really tough road uh 10
04:13and 2
04:13basically or 9 and 3 which is going to get you in the playoff and uh it was a lot
04:18of fun to put
04:19together so a couple takeaways on the sec side is alabama's got the easiest schedule um in the
04:26this year according to our formula they do play florida state so you know we were talking about
04:31killing deborah last week maybe some more pressure off him if they go have another 10 and 2 season
04:37and then um you know missouri a team that had had a very easy schedule the last couple years has
04:43the
04:43hardest schedule in the sec and they have less ranked teams than than the big 10 this year at least
04:49in
04:49our top 25 so uh their schedule rankings overall were a little low and i don't know who makes
04:56florida schedule by the way florida for the third great year it is uh it's not easy they i'm looking
05:02at pulling it up right now they play four top 10 teams they play old miss texas georgia oklahoma i
05:08don't know who's making the gator schedule that's not going to be easy for uh first year coach john
