00:06You know, Brandon Sorsby, I believe the guy should get every opportunity
00:09to play in the National Football League,
00:12and I thought he should have had an opportunity to also play in college football
00:16if he so deemed it, but he's going into the supplemental draft.
00:20How do you see this story?
00:21Craig, if you were a team like the Jets or the Giants,
00:24would you draft him, take an outlier, fourth rounder?
00:28Would you want to have him on your football team, a Brandon Sorsby?
00:33100%, yes.
00:34I think it's embarrassing what the Big Ten said when they came out
00:38and said they were considering boycotting games if they played against Texas Tech.
00:43I think it's even worse what the Big 12 did.
00:47Here's a 22-year-old kid that owned up problems,
00:50and if he was a drug addict, he'd be playing.
00:53If he was an alcoholic, he'd be playing.
00:54Heck, if he beat his wife, he'd be playing.
00:56So I think it makes it very hard now for other kids to come forward
01:01and admit they have a problem with the help that they need.
01:03He is going to be picked in the supplemental draft.
01:06If I'm the New York Jets, I would put in a claim for him even in the second round.
01:11This is a first-round talent kid who is a preseason favorite for the Heisman,
01:16was looked at as one of the three best quarterbacks coming into this upcoming college football season,
01:22and we've learned a long time ago that you can do a lot of things wrong,
01:28and if you're a great player, somebody's going to give you a chance.
01:31This is a kid I think that deserves a chance,
01:33and he will be the first kid picked since 2019 in the supplemental draft,
01:38and I think he's a second- or third-round pick in that draft.
01:42Absolutely there, Craig.
01:43Craig, what will his biggest obstacles be for him?
01:47What will be the one thing that he'll have to fight?
01:50A guy like yourself, Craig, I mean, speaking from the experience on this here,
01:55I mean, what's the one thing that he's going to have to overcome
01:58that maybe others are going to be eyeballing him with?
02:03Well, Craig, departmentalize it.
02:06The football part's difficult enough because the NFL, as you know, is not kind to people,
02:12especially quarterbacks that are learning on the fly,
02:14but the hardest thing for him is going to be not to gamble, right?
02:17He can't gamble anymore, and he's obviously a compulsive gambler,
02:21and he went to a 35-day inpatient rehab center, which I totally respect that he did,
02:27and he's going to have to prove to people, A, that he can play at that level,
02:30and then, B, unfortunately, you know, this kind of scandal follows you.
02:34He's going to be asked a lot of questions about it,
02:37and unfortunately for him, because it's so public, you know,
02:40the first time he has a three-interception game, if he gets to play in the NFL,
02:45that's going to be the first thing people think.
02:48So I'm rooting for the kid.
02:50He's got some mountains to climb still for sure.
02:52I'm sure he's got great representation,
02:55but he is going to get an opportunity to be a professional football player,
02:58and I'm going to root for that kid to do well.
