TURKEY FLOOD BREAKING: Flash Floods Sweep Cars Away In Havza District; Streets And Homes Submerged

Torrential rainfall triggered severe flooding across Turkey’s Havza district in Samsun after rivers burst their banks overnight. The Hacı Osman Stream overflowed within minutes, submerging streets, homes, basements, and major roads in muddy floodwaters. Videos circulating online showed vehicles being swept away by powerful currents, while a truck driver reportedly waited atop his vehicle for rescue.

Authorities confirmed 12 residents suffered minor injuries, with no fatalities reported so far. Emergency crews worked through the night pumping water and clearing debris across flood-hit neighborhoods. Schools in Havza were closed Wednesday due to damage, as Governor Orhan Tavlı and Mayor Murat İkiz inspected affected areas personally.
