00:00On the streets of Leeds, workers from Homeless Street Angels are seeing more people than ever needing food, shelter and basic care.

00:38Despite welcoming the funding, Becky Joyce says it is not enough.
00:42She believes the grant would need to be doubled to make a real difference, with half directed towards providing more housing and half towards helping people rebuild their lives once they're off the streets.
00:52A Leeds City Council report confirmed that £665,000 of the grant has been allocated to specific projects, focusing on areas such as the city centre and South Leeds, places where drug use and related activity have recently increased.
01:07The charity Change Grow Live will use part of the funding to recruit four additional outreach workers.
01:13It will also run emergency night shelters between December and March, along with daytime shelter during periods of extreme cold.
01:19The government says the total investment in Leeds homelessness services now stands at £2.9 million, including the £1.2 million uplift announced last month, and that every person deserves a place to call a safe home.
