00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Bog.
00:04This time, it's all about the Ferrari 96 GT3 Evo.
00:08The evolutionary development of one of the most successful GT3 racing cars of recent years.
00:15With over 140 wins, more than 400 podium finishes and 56 pole positions,
00:20the 296 GT3 has already impressively demonstrated what it's capable of.
00:25Now Ferrari is upping the ante and presenting a revised Evoion as part of the SPAR 24 hours race,
00:33which will be available from the 2026 season both as a completely new vehicle and as an upgrade kit for existing vehicles.
00:42The focus of the further development is clearly on more consistent performance under racing conditions.
00:48Particularly striking are the extensively revised aerodynamics.
00:51The splitter, underbody, vents and rear diffuser have been modified to direct the airflow more efficiently
00:58and improve the aerodynamic balance, even in the slipstream of other vehicles.
01:05The newly developed rear wing with quick adjustment mechanism is based on the basic idea of the 296 LMGT3
01:12and allows rapid adjustment of the angle of attack, ideal for quick setup changes in racing.
01:17The basic layout of the V6 biturbo engine with 2.9L displacement has been retained.
01:26It is still a 120 degrees V concept with internal turbochargers,
01:30which offers advantages in terms of weight and shifting the center of gravity.
01:35The position of the engine remains low and far forward in the chassis.
01:39However, it has been tilted by 2 degrees to create additional installation space for the rear diffuser
01:45and increase its aerodynamic efficiency.
01:49The airflow over the front diffusers has also been optimized in conjunction with the revised underbody.
01:57The aim is to guide the cleanest possible air to the rear air intakes,
02:01regardless of whether the vehicle is driving freely or in the slipstream.
02:04The wheel suspension on the front and rear axles has also been revised in order to reduce the load on individual components,
02:14increase durability and achieve an even more balanced handling.
02:19The new geometry promises more precise feedback between the front and rear axles,
02:24which is particularly advantageous when cornering.
02:26In the pits, the optimized setup system allows the vehicle to adapt more quickly to different conditions.
02:36Another key issue was improving thermal efficiency.
02:41New air ducts and two additional air intakes on the bonnet increase the airflow to the front brake discs by over 20%.
02:47Two additional openings in the underbody also contribute to better cooling of the electric servo pump.
02:56The exterior mirrors have also been repositioned to reduce vibrations and improve rear visibility.
03:03Here too, Ferrari benefits from experience with the LMG3.
03:08Inside, the functional and ergonomically designed layout of the previous model remains largely the same.
03:15However, an improved air conditioning system with an additional fan ensures noticeably greater comfort,
03:20especially in endurance races.
03:22Homologation of the new Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO is already underway and the first appearances in international GTR racing are planned from season 22-26.
03:34For teams already using the 296 GT3, a comprehensive EVO kit will be available, allowing them to upgrade to the latest technical standard.
