00:00Please welcome Ola Sinis, CEO of Mercedes-Benz.
00:08Good evening, good evening, good evening, ladies and gentlemen, bua, senore.
00:17Senore, we just saw it in the video.
00:22This beautiful country and the Mercedes brand share a deep friendship.
00:26Before we go further though, I would like to take a moment to wish Pope Francis a speedy
00:34recovery as he has recently been suffering from some health issues.
00:39I had the privilege to meet him back in December when we presented him with the new Papa Bill.
00:46Now the entire Mercedes family is wishing him a swift return to good health.
00:50We're grateful.
01:06Among one of the most legendary and most valuable logos in the world is the Mercedes star.
01:11The star has been a strong promise to our customers for centuries.
01:20That's the blink of an eye in the eternal city but eternity in the car world.
01:24The brand has made this brand iconic and we have made icons and icons have made us see up
01:38run was a passionate G-Wing owner, legends like Elvis Presley, Coco Chanel and Grace Kelly
01:44who all were proud Mercedes drivers.
01:53Today, the list of living legends who all love Mercedes is just as long and impressive.
02:01I mean name any other car brand has been mentioned in over 16,000 songs.
02:05Yes, we do embrace our cultural relevance but what initially fueled our drive was something else.
02:18Passion
02:19A passion for engineering and for the tireless strive for perfection and innovation for nothing but the best.
02:28The 300SL was a product of that passion.
02:31Today it's one of the most sought after vehicles in the classic car market.
02:35In the 1950s, we premiered the predecessor of the Sass and to this day,
02:42the S-Class is proof of our commitment to safety, comfort and quality.
02:47It's widely considered the best car in the world.
02:51We've made motorsports history and continued to race for champions.
02:56We built and auctioned the most valuable car in the world for 135 million and the runner-up to it.
03:05But as much as we enjoy glancing in the rearview mirror for us at Mercedes,
03:10it's always been more important to focus on what's ahead.
03:15The EQX vision began as a larger-than-life vision.
03:19It became an engineering masterpiece and the most efficient Mercedes ever made.
03:23The first electric Mercedes to run beyond 1,200 kilometers on a single charge.
03:32The car you see in a few moments translates this vision into serious production.
03:39We're the inventors and reinventors of the automobile.
03:42This day marks the beginning of a new era for Mercedes.
03:48An entirely new digital experience is the ultimate proof that the future is electric.
03:56This new generation of vehicles will bring everything you know about Mercedes to a new level.
04:01We set out to lead in electric drive and digital experience.
04:06Tonight we'll show you what we mean.
04:09Ladies and gentlemen, this is not just another car launch.
04:14The CLA marks the start of the greatest series of car launches ever for Mercedes-Benz.
04:21Introducing the most efficient and intelligent cars we've ever built.
04:24Supercuts on wheels paired with unique design and exquisite craftsmanship.
04:37Zero-compromise cars no matter what offer cutting-edge BEV and ICE models they will
04:42explode strengths without sacrificing space elegance or efficiency.
04:46And the new CLA is the front-runner and blueprint for the technology we're going to see in every new Mercedes from now on.
05:16The new Mercedes-Benz Safety.
05:37These cars are absolutely gorgeous.
05:46Das war's für heute.
06:16Let's find out a few of my highlights.
06:20Kicking off with the reduced yet elegant dynamic design.
06:25When you meet someone new, where do you look first?
06:30Write their eyes and their smile.
06:34The CLA's radiant grille features no less than 142 individually animated LED stars.
06:41It's the first fully illuminated grille panel on a Mercedes.
06:46Do I need a grille like that?
06:47Probably not.
06:49Do I want it?
06:50Heck yeah!
06:53The next thing you'll notice is the panoramic glass roof flooding the interior with sun and
06:58light.
07:02This high-tech feature comes standard and it's engineered with an ultra-thin coating
07:06to protect passengers from solar glare and sunburn.
07:13You're buying what feels like a sports car, but it is a fully functional sedan.
07:20The classic trunk and the new front can hold much more luggage than you'd expect.
07:27Did I mention this beautiful star-shaped front and taillight design?
07:33In essence, we've elevated the entire product from front to back.
07:38On the inside, we're using the finest materials, metal, wood, leather, glass.
07:43It's all about craftsmanship.
07:46The roof adds to the lofty living room vibe.
07:52I'm 195 met tall and it would actually fit four of me.
07:59With the MBUX Super Screen being the unrivaled hero, the interior serves as a high-end entertainment
08:05room.
08:07One that I wish I had in my house.
08:10Frankly speaking, the screen spans the entire width of the interior and boasts game-engine
08:15powered graphics.
08:18It even allows front-seat passengers to bring their controllers and play video games while
08:22on the go.
08:25The screen also is the perfect canvas to display what our AI-enhanced operating system MBOS is
08:31capable of.
08:34MBOS is the brain of this car.
08:37Intelligent combination of hardware and software.
08:42Back in 1969 a computer with a computing power of less than 100,000 commands per second took
08:48humanity to the moon.
08:53Today we have chips like this.
08:59It conducts no less than 254 trillion operations per second.
09:07And it's so powerful it needs water cooling.
09:12MBOS has been developed in-house in close collaboration with the best tech partners on the planet.
09:19NVIDIA for automated driving, Qualcomm for in-aftainment to drop just two names.
09:26The intelligence of what used to be 48 or more individual control units has been bundled into
09:31four domain computers.
09:34less complexity, more capacity.
09:39This is the software defined car.
09:42So what's in it for the customers?
09:46One, you buy a very intelligent car in the first place.
09:51It will be even smarter 12 months later and it keeps getting more capable the longer you
09:57own it.
09:59Thanks to over the updates.
10:02This car will age like a fine bottle of Italian wine.
10:06Two, you get a hyper-personalized experience, one that is more intuitive than ever.
10:15The virtue assistant will evolve from a helpful companion to a super-intelligent and empathetic
10:20friend.
10:23A machine you actually want to talk to.
10:28It combines the best AI agents from Microsoft and Google to find really good answers and solutions
10:33even for complex tasks.
10:38Think of it as the best co-driver you've ever had.
10:43And one that is discreet by design.
10:47In a Mercedes, passengers are safe and all your data is secure.
10:54Just say the name of your favorite car brand and promptly the Mercedes Virtual Assist will
10:58answer all your questions.
11:02Let's try it.
11:04Hey Mercedes.
11:06How may I help you?
11:09Who's playing tonight down there at the Olympic Stadium?
11:14In tonight's EuroLeague quarter-finals, Lazy Rome is playing against Victoria Pilsen.
11:20Thank you.
11:22This system simply knows a lot, including the best way to take you places as quickly and
11:27smoothly as possible.
11:34You will see the navigation beautifully staged on the MBOX super screen powered by the latest
11:39Google Maps GPS data or AMAP data in China or TMAP in Korea depending on your location
11:45and merging high-end navigation data with automated driving capabilities is where the magic really
11:51happens.
11:56The CLA excels in driver assistance.
12:02We've covered the entire car in up to 27 sensors and cameras.
12:08All seamlessly integrated.
12:11The system is wide awake, relentlessly scanning all surroundings for you.
12:17What is all that for?
12:19For one, it will be next to impossible to accidentally scratch this car when parking just in case
12:25you really, really want to self-park at all.
12:32More importantly, we're now able to offer our customers full point-to-point navigation or
12:37so level 2 plus capability which simply means this car does the driving in most everyday
12:42traffic situations and we're talking about heavy traffic.
12:48Beijing-style heavy traffic.
12:51Even if the driver decides to take the wheel, the system remains active and attentive.
12:56We call it cooperative steering.
12:58Human and machine literally work hand-in-hand to get the job done.
13:06Once you've experienced it, you'll love it.
13:09We will offer certified level 2 plus driving in China later this year.
13:14We'll target the US next year and the EU will follow as soon as the regulatory framework is in place.
13:22Thus fundamentally elevate automated driving and expand our leading role in this field.
13:28Of course, we do so the Mercedes way.
13:34Safe, intuitive, comfortable and efficient.
13:40Speaking of efficiency, the CLA is the most efficient series-built Mercedes we've ever made.
13:45It's the 1L car for the electric or for the numbers among you as little as 12.2 kilowatts-hours per 100 kilometers.
13:58The bottom line is without done ourselves.
14:01The CLA is super competitive in every relevant area.
14:05Range, charging speed, consumption, you name it.
14:08This is the EQX for the road.
14:12Promise made, promise kept.
14:15The CLA is now able to go up to 792 kilometers on a single charge according to the WLTP standard.
14:24According to the Chinese CLTC cycle, we're even looking at over 850 kilometers.
14:30Charging will be a breeze almost like fueling.
14:36Plug it in and you'll get up to an extra 325 kilometers within 10 minutes.
14:41I visit my home country, Sweden, every summer to see my family.
14:48That's roughly a 1,100 kilometers drive from St.Gard.
14:53With the CLA, I could probably do it with just one stop.
14:58So long-range anxiety.
15:00So far, so far I've been promoting the electric version and for good reason.
15:12In case you're still not convinced of electric vehicles, do your thing.
15:17We've got you covered.
15:18The electrified hybrids are just as uncompromising.
15:22Thanks to modular architecture, they share the beauty and most of the technology.
15:26Our new high-tech hybrid engine is nothing less than the most efficient ICE engine we've ever made.
15:34That's what happens when you give some of the brightest engineers in the company the freedom to do their thing.
15:41We will be able to cater to different customer needs well into the 2030s.
15:47So which of the siblings to get usually they tell you not to pick a child.
15:52Today I'll make an exception.
15:54I'd go for the all-electric CLA.
16:01With the CLA, the price points with the CLA.
16:05The price points for BV and ICE will be converging and the total cost of ownership is lower for most electric vehicles anyway.
16:11Going electric just makes sense in so many ways.
16:21That's why we are committed to going net carbon neutral by the end of the next decade.
16:25The CLA plays a vital role in delivering on our 2039 ambition with a 40% lower carbon footprint compared to its non-electric predecessor,
16:3930% less CO2 for its battery cell and a net carbon neutral production powered by 100% green energy.
16:46To wrap it up, this is a completely new vehicle.
16:53Only the name remains.
16:58Everything else has been taken to an entirely new level.
17:02This is Mercedes engineering.
17:06You get more than you asked for.
17:08The CLA shooting break will follow suit later this year, but we can already have a little sneak peek tonight.
17:18After the shooting break, there will be two more entry tickets coming to the Mercedes-Benz family.
17:29Ladies and gentlemen, I'm pretty sure you all agree.
17:34This scenery is breathtaking.
17:37The stunning cars paired with one of the world's most beautiful backdrops.
17:44This really is a moment to remember.
17:46Hey Mercedes, get us in the mood.
17:51To appreciate this magical night in Rome.
17:57Alright, Ola, adjusting setup to your preferences.
18:01Thank you.
18:16Thank you.
18:16There is a moment to remember, I hope we had a huge impact on Monday.
18:20Bye.
18:20There is this change.
18:21Bye.
18:22Bye.
18:23Bye.
18:23Bye.
18:23Bye.
18:32Bye.
18:33Bye.
18:34Bye.
18:35Bye.
18:36Bye.
18:44Bye.
