00:00So let's take a look at what's going on right now.
00:02We have the big picture.
00:03Here is our big view.
00:04We've got, again, powerful Hurricane Alberto, Category 3 hurricane, well-defined eye.
00:10There's Bermuda, by the way.
00:11This is going to be making a pass just west of Bermuda.
00:14And then this still kind of disheveled area of low pressure.
00:17I think this is the center of it, just on the north side of the bubble.
00:20Our most likely prospect to become Imelda later this weekend.
00:25Alberto, though, max sustained winds have now reached Category 3 intensity,
00:29115-mile-per-hour max sustained winds, moving northwest and west-northwest at 5 miles per hour.
00:34Kind of a slow mover.
00:36And the Bermuda Azores High is strong and anchored pretty far west of its often typical position.
00:42So that's allowing the storm to pass west of Bermuda.
00:44Meanwhile, we're going to be watching as this passes a bit east of the future path of Imelda.
00:50So as Alberto makes a glancing blow in Bermuda, here probably as a Category 2 storm,
00:56after attaining Category 4 intensity for a time,
00:59we're going to be tracking other concerns farther west.
01:02And again, it's a tug-of-war between any influence that Alberto may have on future Imelda.
01:07Here's future Imelda, currently a tropical rainstorm.
01:10And again, there's an area of wind shear, that deep purple, just to the northwest of this storm,
01:15that will keep it in check.
01:16It's a big speed bump as it moves through the Turks and Caicos and into the Bahamas.
01:20But eventually, by tomorrow, around 8 p.m., we expect it to be a tropical storm,
01:24probably even a hurricane for a time Monday afternoon or evening.
01:27And then it's going to slow, very slowly, move into the Carolina coast, most likely.
01:33There are still some questions, as we'll talk about with the forecast feed.
01:36But this could be spending Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
01:40all between the Carolina coast and the Piedmont there,
01:43which would lead to tremendous amounts of river and flash flooding again.
01:46So the Carolinas need to be prepared for a landfall from Monday night through Wednesday.
01:51And again, potential for life-threatening flooding and rough seas for many as well.
