Jeremy Rockliff has been re-commissioned as Tasmania's Premier by Governor Barbara Baker, following weeks of uncertainty. But he faces a major test when parliament sits again in two weeks’ time, with Labor confirming the Liberal leader will face another no-confidence motion.

00:10I sought recommissioning as Premier and that was granted.
00:16Jeremy Rockliffe will remain as Premier for at least two more weeks.
00:20I believe that through sensible communication, everyone working together, pragmatism, this
00:29is a Government and a Parliament that will last the full term.
00:34He'll announce his new Cabinet this week.
00:36But how long it stays in place for will be decided when State Parliament resumes on August 19th.
00:42And Mr Rockliffe's mettle is tested again.
00:45There will be a motion moved, whether it's by us or an independent,
00:49there will be a motion moved in Parliament of no confidence in the Liberals and confidence in the Labor Government.
00:54For the motion to be successful, it'd need the backing of the ten Labor MPs,
00:58the five Greens and at least three of the remaining six crossbenches.
01:03The Labor leader will meet with all six non-Green crossbenches tomorrow
01:07as he makes his case to form a minority government, despite winning just ten seats.
01:13I think Tasmanians need us to provide stability here and I think Labor is in the best position
01:17to provide stable government with this Parliament.
01:20But he continues to avoid talking about the Greens, despite not being able to become Premier without them.
01:26The Greens will make their own decisions about the way that they approach the next Parliament
01:30and the vote on the floor.
01:31The major parties now have thirteen days to convince the eleven crossbenchers
01:36that the State is better off under their leadership.
01:39Only one, independent Craig Garland, has declared their hand,
01:43with the former fisherman backing in Mr Winter.
01:46The Greens have yet to say how they will vote.
01:49But just last week said they had no faith in a government led by Mr Rockcliffe.
