00:00Of Detroit City FC, Danny Dikio has a few more toys available tonight.
00:04He does. The team seems to be back to full health, Neil, and this is a very strong starting 11
00:09for this group.
00:10Albert Dikio, of course, a former USL MVP as well. A couple goals in the matchup back on April 18.
00:19Two teams coming in on a great form, and we are underway.
00:23Neil Rule, David Dweehy, happy to have you with us from Keyworth Stadium.
00:41And Jesse El Cedeno in a dead sprint after it will not be able to catch up to it, but
00:46it is a throw.
00:49Mookie Yamazaki, one of the most fouled players in all of USL Championship.
00:54If there's a whistle, he's usually involved.
00:56One side of it or the other, yeah.
01:00Now Mumenza goes direct.
01:06Cedeno plays it down.
01:08Cedeno on the move, a bit heavy with that touch.
01:11That ball played back to the keeper.
01:13Camposano.
01:150-96 goals against average, 71% save percentage.
01:20Jesse El Cedeno does well.
01:22Get that one out of the 18.
01:24Now it's sent back in.
01:25Now Mumenza comes over, and Herrera will play it off the short hop.
01:32This portion of the broadcast is brought to you by Strategic Staffing Solutions.
01:43Mujo, the giveaway.
01:46Hidrok.
01:47Tried to slot it through to Dequa.
01:49Dequa has it!
01:50The stop is made by Carlos Herrera.
01:53Big time save.
01:54Soft hands from Carlos Herrera to not give up a rebound there.
01:57He was able to swallow it up.
01:59Yeah, that was impressive.
02:00The minute that shot fired, I thought, the ball's going to bounce, and kept it close.
02:04That was some great goalkeeping there.
02:11No one more happy with Herrera's efforts that should just about do it for the first half.
02:20And there is the halftime whistle.
02:24David, we expected a heavyweight fight.
02:29And away we go.
02:31Neil Rule, David DeWahy, the second half at historic Keyworth Stadium, USL Championship Soccer.
02:45Stanley able to come up, give it a lash down the pitch.
02:59Danny Griffin will come over.
03:03160 USL matches played with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
03:07Oftentimes their work rate leader.
03:10Mensei got locked up with Goldthorpe, and a late whistle comes in.
03:14Lajoke comes flying up.
03:15There's that pressure from City.
03:17Benefiting them once again.
03:19A bolt of lightning down the left side.
03:21They run three defenders over towards Juve this time.
03:25Stanley will whip it towards the back post.
03:27It comes free.
03:28Mensei Rodriguez couldn't quite get there.
03:31Well worked.
03:32What a pass from Jesse Ocedeno.
03:35Just inches from being just right.
03:38I'll tell you what, David.
03:39We have seen Pittsburgh run two defenders at all times in Otis Juve.
03:43And we haven't seen that this season.
03:45There was a dedicated two defenders.
03:47Yep.
03:47He's that dangerous.
03:48And you see why.
03:50He's so explosive.
03:51He's so dynamic.
03:52He can serve it with his left.
03:53He can cut in on his right.
03:55He's a handful.
03:56And Pittsburgh are aware of that.
03:57Here comes Lajoke.
03:58Lajoke.
03:59Let's it go.
04:00Oh, and it's just wide.
04:02Feel themselves a bit.
04:04Now the crowd will be the case.
04:10Josiel Ocedeno, a good hour plus from him.
04:13He paid the price physically.
04:14He got in the mix with some much bigger bodies.
04:16Yep.
04:17He always puts in a great shift for this Detroit City FC team.
04:21He's a unique player.
04:22He's dynamic.
04:23He's quick.
04:24Crafty.
04:24And I think you get a little bit of a change of pace here with Kian Williams.
04:28A little bit more of a traditional winger.
04:29He's going to look to run at players.
04:30A little bit more of a physical presence maybe.
04:33Just gives Detroit City a different look on that right side of the field.
04:37Kian Williams spent his youth career at the Leicester City Youth Systems over in England.
04:43On loan from Indy 11.
04:45Spent the last three years in the Canadian Premier League.
04:51Felt with well by Callum Montgomery.
04:55Montgomery, another player spent his last three seasons in the Canadian Premier League.
05:05Alex DeLue will come on, as will the new addition for Detroit City FC.
05:11Cheeku Niang makes his way on.
05:14The 20-year-old, 6'6", on loan from FC Cincinnati 2.
05:20And I think with the arrival of Niang and Darren Smith still on the field,
05:23it might be a change of shape for City.
05:25They might be going with two up front.
05:28Not quite sure yet.
05:29I've got to kind of wait to see the look of it.
05:31Maybe Darren Smith plays underneath in more of an attacking midfielder type role
05:36or a withdrawn to the false nine type situation.
05:39But we're definitely trying something drastic here.
05:42And then Alex DeLue has many qualities.
05:45And chief among them is his ability to change the complexion of a game.
05:50He tries stuff.
05:50He's unique in his style.
05:52He's going to set himself off to the left side here.
05:55And will no doubt make an impact.
06:06Niang is a big body to get around.
06:08He's that hold-up target player that Detroit City FC have been looking for this season.
06:18What a ball.
06:21Spoke too soon.
06:21And Randy Foster just overcooked it.
06:23I'm just looking at Niang out there.
06:26He looks like a WWE wrestler.
06:30Out there up at the top.
06:32He does, doesn't he?
06:33He's a presence.
06:34He's a presence.
06:35Yes.
06:37I think he should have had theme music when he came into the match.
06:41Walk on, son.
06:42Stanley.
06:45Sends it towards a back post.
06:46That's headed down.
06:47Oh!
06:48And it's in the back of the net.
06:50What a finish for Detroit City.
06:53Kean Williams.
06:56Kean Williams.
06:57Kean Williams on a beautiful setup.
07:02That was absolute soccer art by Detroit City FC.
07:07The beautiful right-footed ball across from Aiden Stanley.
07:11A return header from Haruki Yamazaki.
07:14His teammates are showering him with love right now.
07:18But what a big goal.
07:23It's a Motor City Casino goal.
07:26Let's take a look at this soccer beauty again.
07:29He is an absolute presence.
07:34And so young.
07:35Very bright prospect.
07:36And here he comes.
07:37He's got Darren Smith up with him.
07:38And Niang lets it go!
07:40And the stop is made by Campuzano.
07:43We're through.
07:44Five minutes of stoppage time.
07:47We're probably in the stoppage time of the stoppage time now.
07:50Big win for Michael Bryant there.
07:53Niang.
07:54And the final whistle sounds in Detroit City FC.
