00:00Stop! Party! Israel!
00:01Be free! Free Palestine!
00:03We want justice to stay home!
00:05We want justice to stay home!
00:07We want justice to stay home!
00:08That's our land. They tried to murder us.
00:17Protests erupted across New York as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
00:25As Netanyahu took the podium, dozens of UN delegations walked out of the hall, leaving rows of empty seats behind.
00:34But inside, Netanyahu remained defiant.
00:38He rejected accusations of genocide in Gaza, calling them the greatest lie of the century, while defending Israel's military campaign
00:48and its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid.
00:52Netanyahu also lashed out at the diplomats who walked out, branding them moral cowards.
00:59Outside the UN, the protests continued.
01:03Hundreds of demonstrators gathered near First Avenue, demanding an end to the Gaza War and U.S. military support for
01:11Israel.
01:11Police ordered protesters to clear the roadway, and more than 100 people were arrested and later released with summonses.
01:20Among those arrested were actors Susan Sarandon and Hannah Einbinder, whistleblower Chelsea Manning, comedian Caleb Heron, and several politicians and
01:31candidates.
01:32Later, a much larger demonstration moved toward the UN, with protesters carrying Palestinian flags and chanting against Israel's actions in
01:43Gaza.
01:43A large Netanyahu effigy was also displayed and later set on fire, before police extinguished it.
01:51Meanwhile, an Israeli delegation member was seen moving through the UN hall, checking which delegations had left during Netanyahu's speech.
02:00The demonstrations continued around the United Nations into the evening, hours after Netanyahu had finished speaking.
02:08Inside the General Assembly, Netanyahu vowed that Israel would continue its military campaign.
02:16Outside, protesters made clear they intended to keep their pressure on the Israeli government and its policies in Gaza.
02:27So it's really important for us to be here today, to take a stand, and to show them that we
02:33don't want Netanyahu here.
02:35We don't want these other world leaders here. We don't even want Trump here.
02:40This is our city, and we really want to ensure that it's the people whose voices are heard.
02:45So I am Jewish, and I am enraged that we are being weaponized to sponsor this genocide.
02:53I don't want my tax dollars or anyone's tax dollars to fund the genocide.
02:59I was in Palestine about 30 years ago, and mostly in the West Bank with a Palestinian friend.
03:06Once you see apartheid, you can't unsee it.
03:09There's so much more we could do. There's so much potential that we have as a country, as the richest
03:15country on earth.
03:16If we were to spend those resources inwards and not outwards, trying to extract natural resources from the third world,
03:24doing endless wars in the Middle East, we would be in a much better spot.
