00:00First Emmy win?
00:01Yes.
00:02How does it feel? I mean, literally, minutes ago, you won an Emmy.
00:05It was crazy. The fact that this show has gotten so much love from the Academy and everybody out there,
00:12and I get to participate in it, it's out of body.
00:16Where are you going to keep your Emmy?
00:19Well, my wife's father was a film producer in London,
00:26and he won a Golden Globe in the 70s, and we're going to put it right next to that thing.
00:31Is the Globe bigger or the Emmy?
00:34The Emmy.
00:35I was going to ask, for people at home, how heavy is this?
00:38It's really heavy. It's something you can go ahead and do lifts for in the morning,
00:43and I might put that into my regimen every morning, just doing, you know, lifts with this.
00:49I mean, not many people can do that, so I think you should.
00:52It's really heavy, yes. I can concur.
00:56Widows Bay has now won so many Emmys.
00:58It's obviously going into the final categories with a lot of momentum.
01:01Are you surprised that this has become such a huge Emmys contender?
01:04I'm surprised that we've been recognized so much,
01:07but I knew how good the show was going to be from the moment I read the first script
01:11and met Katie Dippold and Hiro Murai, who I'd worked with before on Barry,
01:18and I knew it was going to be a great show.
01:20I'd worked with Matthew on Perry Mason, so I knew all the actors and the directors,
01:25and it's like, oh, this is something you have to do.
01:29And what is it about the show that do you think has resonated so strongly,
01:33both with critics and with fans?
01:35I think there's a lot of familiar things in this show,
01:39and Katie took it to a completely original place.
01:42And we had to walk the line very carefully between comedy and horror.
01:49And like in Barry, they're a separate thing.
01:52Comedy is the comedy and the horror is the horror.
01:55But this being a half-hour show, you get a little bit of each,
01:59and it worked really, really well.
02:01Have you started filming Season 2, or is there anything you know about Season 2?
02:06I know that we're going to have one.
02:09No, if I had a telepathic connection to Katie's brain, I could tell you.
02:15But I'm thrilled with anything she wants to do with these characters.
02:19I'm hoping there's more backstory for every one of us,
02:23but I'm fine with whatever she wants to do.
02:25Do you know how long fans will have to wait?
02:28I think they're almost finished.
02:31They have ten episodes to write.
02:33I think they're on seven or eight.
02:34So they're getting there.
02:35They're getting closer.
02:36We're ready to go.
02:38We'll stampede out the door the moment they tell us to.
02:40What is the craziest thing about attending the Emmys?
02:43For those of us watching at home, what is it like being here?
02:47Seeing some of your favorite actors up close
02:49and them saying to you, congratulations on your nomination.
02:53Such as?
02:54Yeah, oh, gosh.
02:58Now you just knocked it all out of my head.
03:00You just won an Emmy.
03:01It's okay.
03:02I just won an Emmy, and I don't have any brain for that.
03:05I'm just an actor.
03:08But, yeah, no, it's just seeing people that you really admire, you know,
03:13and talking to them.
03:14It's great.
03:15I got to see my friend, Rupert Sewell, who I did Men in the High Castle with,
03:20and he was so nice and complimentary.
03:23Thank you so much.
03:25Congratulations on your first Emmy.
03:26Have a great night.
03:27Have a good night.
03:28Are you going to be partying?
03:30Hell, yeah.
03:31Where are you going to go?
03:32Well, we're going to go to the Governess Ball first,
03:34then we've got to go to the fine people at Apple who are giving us a party,
03:38and then you'll never know.
03:41Have a great night.
03:42Thank you so much.
