00:00You won the Emmy last weekend at the Creative Arts Emmy for DTF.
00:03You and I talked about this over dinner.
00:04And you had to put it in a carry-on luggage and fly out of Los Angeles with it,
00:09and you were worried security was going to stop you?
00:11Yeah, that's true.
00:12And I just packed it.
00:13I didn't have anything.
00:13I had a bunch of dirty socks and, like, some gym clothes and stuff.
00:16And I just packed it in there.
00:18I thought maybe they wouldn't notice.
00:19And they didn't, I guess.
00:20You flew it back to New York, and where is it now?
00:22It's on my kitchen counter.
00:25I just don't know what to do with any of them, actually.
00:27So there's a bunch of them from Stranger Things that we won, like we won an MTV Movie Award,
00:31the big popcorn, golden popcorn one, which I kind of have a soft spot in my heart for,
00:35and the SAG Award and, like, Critics' Choice and some various ones.
00:39So I just shoved them all on my kitchen counter.
00:40I just put them right there, and I'll probably cook them up and eat them.
00:44No, I don't know what to do with them.
00:45They're just sitting there.
00:46I don't know what to do.
00:48Do you have any recommendations?
00:49Oh, wait, look.
00:50There it is.
00:50Oh, there it is.
00:51There it is.
00:52That's your Emmy in the suitcase.
00:54Those wings are very sharp.
00:56I don't know if you realize that, but you touch those wings, and they're like –
00:59I mean, that's like a weapon.
01:00You know, I'm glad that –
01:01It's very heavy, but security let me through.
01:04They didn't even stop you.
01:06They didn't even stop me at all.
01:07That's kind of shocking, a little concerning, but I'm glad that you made it home.
01:11I'm glad my Emmy made it home.
01:12How does it feel?
01:12It would have been weird.
01:13Sometimes my shoes get black because they say my shoes are too –
01:16the tips of my shoes, but the Emmy made it.
01:18The Emmy made it.
01:19Like a little pocket knife on my keychain that they confiscated in Paris one year.
01:24I was really annoyed with that.
01:25So if they confiscated my Emmy, it would be probably even worse.
01:28Yeah, that would suck.
01:29What does it mean to be an Emmy winner and to win for DTF St. Louis?
01:35I mean, you know, I guess like it's less the individual honor more than it is the embrace of the
01:42whole show.
01:42Like the fact that we won writing, directing, editing, cinematography, and Linda won.
01:46I mean, people just watch the show, and they just said, this is really special,
01:51and like we want to honor this in a certain way.
01:54And I feel such a – the show feels so much more special to me than other things I've done
02:00because I was a producer on it, because I put it together for four years.
02:03That, you know, for it to be embraced in that way, that's all you're ever looking for as an artist,
02:07is for people to watch your stuff and be moved.
02:10And so I'm just blown away, and I'm just so moved.
02:13Have you seen Avengers Doomsday yet?
02:15You have a big year coming up.
02:16Have you seen it?
02:17They don't let me watch that.
02:18What was it like being on that set with Robert Downey Jr. returning to Marvel?
02:22Well, I mean, it's really fun.
02:26That guy is a creative powerhouse, so unpredictable.
02:33And it was just – yeah, it's just a joy.
02:36The movies are such a joy to work on, like Thunderbolts and Black Widow.
02:40So to have us all come together, you have these very surreal moments
02:44where I've watched these movies for ten years,
02:46and I've, you know, cheered in the audience when, you know, Captain America gets the hammer or whatever,
02:52and sort of be on set when things like that are happening is just surreal and amazing.
02:58You're a fan and an actor.
02:59Yeah, I'm a fan and an actor.
03:00I just can't believe my life.
03:02It's very great.
03:03Now, you do have a very busy year coming up.
03:05Coming off of Stranger Things, you and Millie Bobby Brown are partnering together on another project.
03:09Yes, true.
03:10What can you tell us about that?
03:11I mean, I don't know.
03:12I feel like one day we'll tell you what it's about, but I don't think today is that day.
03:16It's not today.
03:16All I can say is that we are, you know, we do have this father-daughter dynamic
03:21that I think we play very well and are very interested in, and she's now in her 20s.
03:27And I think in Stranger Things we explored a lot of teen things,
03:29and now we want to explore, like, what does it mean to father someone in their 20s
03:34who's going through all kinds of things, and he's going through all kinds of things,
03:37and what does family mean?
03:39But at its core, it has an incredible propulsive engine with action and entertainment,
03:45and I just, and Jack Thorne is writing it, who is a master,
03:50and I'm just so excited for us to start working on it.
