00:33Great backdrop for this one, match day five in the Liga Portugal and Berfica have travelled
00:41to face Maritimo, the promoted side, they have seven points as well, they've played
00:46one match more though, a 105 minute flight from Lisbon to the island.
01:00Maritimo opening with a 1-0 win over Casa Pia, extra goal from Guczo, and a very impressive
01:09victory away from Alicao, since then, the draw against Berrero, for Bar.
01:27Castellani, got a lovely pass in behind, but at a very high level if they want to be successful
01:34at the end of the season, corner for Benfica and Paulina, showing his six foot three, he
01:44should be.
01:52In 47 matches for Benfica at this ground, Maritimo with 11 victories over the years.
02:04Castellani, the shot is on, the shot is good, beaten away as far as Berrero, and Benfica
02:11have the lead.
02:18Castellani came close, and it was the Luxembourg midfielder Berrero who was there to follow up.
02:30First goal, Ropoli qualifying as well, Prestiani, the danger man, drawing a save from Alfonso
02:39Pastor.
02:40And Berrero did brilliantly once it came out to him.
02:46Good first touch out of his feet, great finish as well after Pastor beat that shot away from
02:55Prestiani.
02:57Beaten all ends up at the second time of asking.
03:03Benfica won.
03:10Daniel Dowell with the free kick this time, a good flick on, an easy take.
03:15A new contract with the Eagles, ready until 2031.
03:27The club have had a decade now, coming through the Youth Academy.
03:31Here's Paulina.
03:35Already he looks like a very good signing we all suspected he would be.
03:4114 million he cost from Bayern Munich.
03:56Strong from Palo Henrique on Alexander Bar.
04:01Looks like it was a little too strong.
04:09Wasn't expecting the hit but then landed awkwardly off the pitch.
04:27He could be in serious trouble here.
04:30Judging by the physios are going about their business.
04:36He's going international.
04:50He was the main man in the middle.
04:54Good chance for him.
04:57To show Benfica fans what he's about.
05:07Now it's Pavlidis.
05:09Oh, that was close.
05:12Been close again.
05:13A mix up between Danilovic and Correa.
05:17And that is about as close as he can get.
05:38Now, a chance for Tejon.
05:39Givert Benfica.
05:41Two to aim for.
05:43That was a teasing ball across.
05:45And there's no one there.
06:00Carlinha to Tristiani.
06:04Deep cross from the Argentine.
06:06Kaminsky attacking it.
06:10And it sits there from the substitute.
06:24With Wolfsburg in Germany as well.
06:27Starting out with Lecht-Posnan.
06:29Suarez taking a real chance here.
06:32In Long Lake.
06:34Suarez preferred to Alatoli Trubin, the Ukrainian this season.
06:39taking a good cross from sides for the net two to four unparably by Lechtman at the goal.
06:42What kind of Celtics do?
06:47Long Ó.
06:48Long throw.
06:50Jenski.
06:52Varasha will get it away, and the header is wide.
06:59Tallinna.
07:00Reyna.
07:10Prestiani, Gianluca Prestiani again.
07:19Prestiani stays quiet for too long.
07:22He's joined at the club recently by the Australian Alessandro Cercati, a two-year-old centre-back
07:31out of Australia's World Cup team.
07:38Aujo with the header, two-all with Tomalicau, Salah eights, Tomalicau in four-teens.
07:52Smacked into the base of Barrero, another one from Correa, smacks off.
08:01Point blank, and flush in the face that time.
08:20Prestiani, that's in concentration from Kaminski.
08:25Unable to make up for a zero.
08:40Rafa for Pavlidis.
08:43The pass was well intended.
08:46Responded in kind.
08:50The Islanders surging forward to Juliard.
08:55Now there's a foul off the ball, and Surikov gets the yellow for Benfica.
09:02He took over in 2009.
09:07There's Kaminski, still trying to make something of it here.
09:20Maritimo, one of Onyek, a couple of players, the number six.
09:25Number six, I should say, since they were last in the top flight in 2023.
09:30Butchka, watched off it by Araujo.
09:36Guzzo.
09:39For Maritimo.
09:40Oh, there's a couple of players free in there.
09:42And the shot is deflected.
09:46He'll be out for a corner.
09:47It could have been so much.
09:49I'm not afraid of getting word from the PAO team that there might have been something worthy of checking there.
09:55Guzzo over the corner.
09:56It's another good one.
09:58Guzzo.
09:59Castellani slow onto it for Benfica, and they are slow out of defence here.
10:03One of them secured a win in the Portuguese Cup.
10:07Now Guzzo.
10:10The Gags team performing really well in this second half so far.
10:16Guzzo, another teasing clause put behind.
10:19It's a worry for Marco Silva.
10:28Butchka has moved out to the right a lot more.
10:34He is.
10:35He needs to change momentum in this match in Bombay.
10:40Has there a foul on Guzzo?
10:42The advantage played.
10:43Has there a foul on Butchka?
10:45As he tried to get...
10:47Braga have gotten level against Alverka early in the second half.
10:53Victor with the equaliser.
10:57Is there a yellow here?
10:59For Longley.
11:00There is.
11:05Just going off.
11:06Just one attacker coming on.
11:11To Gatti, number three.
11:13There is work cut out.
11:16Try the look of things.
11:20...field man.
11:29And Pavlidis holds off his man.
11:32And finishes his sixth league goal of the season.
11:37But this one won't count.
11:41Very quickly.
11:44Moritimo losing it.
11:47And...
11:49It was played in by Kaminski to Pavlidis.
11:52But he was offside.
11:53And it was an easy enough decision.
11:58And it was an easy enough decision.
12:08Strong from Juliao.
12:10He has been booked.
12:12Referee deciding that he did win the ball.
12:16Corner.
12:17Is a deep one.
12:20And the keeper made a mess of it.
12:22Pastore.
12:22He's gone down.
12:31Not sure.
12:33What's wrong here.
12:35The storm is judging the flight.
12:39Moritimo.
12:4119th of August.
12:45Going through the second half.
12:47Moritimo in search of an equaliser.
12:51And they've not got a corner here.
12:55Cristiani.
12:57Gets it back from Sheldrup.
13:02Cristiani for Sheldrup.
13:03On score.
13:05Well defended in the end.
13:12Sheldrup to the back post.
13:13Oh, that's brilliant.
13:15Pavlidis with the header back across.
13:17And Barrero has his second of the day.
13:22And surely now.
13:25Benfica are heading home.
13:27With all three points.
13:38The 2,000 visiting supporters.
13:42Had a really good view of this one.
13:45And then.
13:46Prestiani to Sheldrup.
13:49Beautifully flighted for Pavlidis.
13:51The marking wasn't great.
13:52The header across goal was.
13:56And Barrero.
13:57Peeling away to the back post.
14:01Judging it.
14:02To perfection.
14:04And a quick look at the assistant referee as well.
14:08But he is on a hat-trick.
14:12Benfica.
14:13On course for win number three.
14:17In the league this season.
14:20Benfica.
14:21Benfica.
14:21Benfica.
14:26Benfica.
14:32Benfica.
14:33Benfica.
14:40Benfica.
14:43Benfica.
14:44one away with 15 minutes to play in Funchal. Prestiani for Scheldrup. Those two linking up
14:55really well. Scheldrup again, fires it across and Pavlidis! Another chance for the Greek,
15:05got himself into a good position, tried to flick it in at the near post.
15:11Guzzo's deliveries gave Benfica a real headache at the start of the second half. That's another good one.
15:19Guerrero heads it.
15:25Varela with Moris Mouache, the man on in attack. Benfica on the attack for now. Pavlidis with the header.
15:32I think Pavlidis would have been a very strong contender for player of the match.
15:54Guerrero not got two goals. Now Prestiani has one.
16:05The Argentines sit directly after a double change for Benfica.
16:10Moritimo losing it from their own throw-in and Prestiani went alone. Good running from the number 22,
16:20Duran, to pull away a defender. And a super finish. Prestiani wriggling away from Andrade.
16:29Moris Mouache sizing up the shot and judging it to perfection. No chance for Pastor. No chance for the home
16:40team.
16:41It's Moritimo nil. Benfica three.
16:58He almost got the opener in this game, Moritimo.
17:06Now a chance of a goal back here.
17:11Appears for handball, but Moris Mouache's arm appeared to be down by his side.
17:19Three minutes of stoppage time.
17:24That's Cristiani on the ball for Benfica.
17:26Sheld it up. That's another corner.
17:32Benfica.
17:34With one goal in the first half and two in the second.
17:37Stay unbeaten in the Liga Portugal.
17:40Borrero on seven minutes and on 71.
17:43Prestiani finishing things off after 82 minutes.
17:47The visitors coming to Edira.
17:50Moritimo put it up to them.
17:52They fell.
17:52The visitors coming to Edira.
17:55The visitors coming to Edira.
17:58The visitors coming to Edira.
17:59The visitors coming to Edira.
18:00The visitors coming to Edira.
18:00The visitors coming to Edira.
18:01The visitors coming to Edira.
18:02The visitors coming to Edira.
