00:00Tiger Woods has avoided a DUI conviction, but the deal comes with a five-year driving ban.
00:06On March 27, Woods crashed his SUV on Jupiter Island, Florida after hitting a truck and rolling
00:13the vehicle. Deputies reported signs of possible impairment and found two hydrocodone pills in his
00:20pocket. Woods passed a breathalyzer but refused a urine test. He initially pleaded not guilty to DUI
00:28and refusing a lawful test. But then, things changed. On September 2, Woods reached a plea deal
00:35and entered a no-contest plea to reduced charges, including reckless driving. The outcome means no
00:43jail time, but Woods will pay $1,500 in fines and lose his driver's license for five years.
00:49The judge also made the terms clear. There are no exceptions to the suspension,
00:54and driving during the ban could result in jail. Now, the DUI charge has been reduced and the case
01:01is moving toward a close, but Woods won't be legally driving for the next five years.
