00:06After years of talk about Days of Thunder sequel, Cruise has officially confirmed it's happening.
00:13He'll return as NASCAR driver Cold Trickle, the character he played in the original 1990 film.
00:20But here's where things get interesting.
00:22Anne Hathaway is joining him as a race team owner and engineer, marking their first movie together.
00:30The sequel had been in development for a while.
00:32In 2024, Cruise was first reported to be in talks to return, and by July 2026, director Jonathan Levine and
00:41writer Will Staples were attached.
00:44Now, the project is officially moving forward at Paramount, with Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Tommy Harper producing.
00:51And the studio has already locked in the date, June 2nd, 2028, with the movie being shot for IMAX and
01:00released exclusively in theaters.
