00:00This guy's name is Dajon Love. He was arrested and charged with wire fraud after he allegedly posed as a
00:08San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.
00:10For four years, he scammed 26 women who he had relationships with and then built some trust with and got
00:19to opt into financial agreements with.
00:23Out of $1.3 million, all under the guise that he plays for the 49ers, that he has a lot
00:30of money, that he'll pay them back essentially, or that they're opting into these financial things that he's already made
00:35money in.
00:36And they're just giving him money, wiring him money.
00:38He used dating apps and fake financial accounts to lure the victims.
00:43But there are people now on the internet that have gone deep into his social media and looked him up.
00:48The depth of this scam is incredible.
00:53I don't know, first of all, how you could be dumb enough to fall for it, but I'll save the
00:57victim-blaming, I guess, part for much later on.
00:59I shouldn't do that.
01:00They got scammed out of money, and I feel bad for them.
01:03But it's 2026.
01:05That's a Google search, my friends.
01:06That is a very quick...
01:08It's just a quick rlads.com, and you can go between different rosters.
01:11There's a depth chart available.
01:12There's Wikipedia pages with teams on it.
01:14It is so easy to know who's on a team who isn't.
01:17He's also publishing his number and his jersey, but we're talking about years and years of photos.
01:23He's got pictures with his mom where he's giving her a house or a car or whatever, and he's pretending
01:27like the league allowed him to do that.
01:29He's got birthday cakes with his number seven jersey and his last name, Love, on the jersey.
01:35He's got these videos he does while he's driving in his car, and he's like, oh, sorry, my McLaren.
01:39I just got it.
01:40It's beeping.
01:41It's going crazy on me.
01:42And he gets back to how he's rising and grinding, and Coach is giving him a hard time about the
01:46routes he's running and all this different stuff.
01:49I mean, it's pretty thorough.
01:51It's a lot of effort to present the persona.
01:55I guess in that regard, it's pretty good with very limited means because you don't have access to the facility.
02:01You don't have access to anything that's real.
02:03But he's posting as if he does.
02:06I think he was taking videos from players, kind of screen grabbing them and using them as his own because
02:13if you go to, like, his Instagram, which I'm sure is down now, he has, like, sections.
02:17One is Super Bowl.
02:18One is training camp or whatever.
02:20Here are these highlights.
02:20So, like, you show yourself that you don't even realize, but you're cutting to someone else's perspective.
02:25Exactly.
02:25Like, it's amazing.
02:26And it shows the locker room, and it looks like he's talking to Debo Samuel or something.
02:29I mean, it was such an elaborate roost that this guy was pulling over people.
02:34He had a partner, a business partner that he did this with who is listed currently at 18 years old.
02:42I would imagine me, when this thing started at 2022, the guy would have been 14.
02:46One of the things I found the funniest about this, and, Toby, I think I put this audio maybe from
02:51him in the 106.7 or the GND chat.
02:55If you could grab it, let me know.
02:56But, regardless, he does this contract signing with the 49ers video where he's, like, re-signing with the team.
03:06And his partner, who's this business guy, says to him, who are you going to play with?
03:11Like, he's doing a picking the hat of a high school senior trying to.
03:17And it's like, no, no, you're saying you're on the 49ers.
03:19You've said that for years.
03:20You're saying you're re-signing your contract.
03:22You're not choosing which NFL team to sign with.
03:24Yeah, he's not, like, they're pretending like they're doing a signing day, but it's, like, a little bit off tone
03:28-wise or whatever, right?
03:28If you know anything about football, not even football, just how the world works, it's the most obvious thing in
03:36the world that this guy's a phony and a fraud.
03:38But I guess these 26 women he got the over $1 million from had no idea.
03:43And I just keep coming back to, and I'll do my prerequisite again of saying they're the victims, and I'm
03:49sad that this happened to them.
03:52But I've got a sister.
03:53Luckily, she's already married.
03:54I've got daughters.
03:56I will raise them to make sure that the person that's saying he does these things does these things.
04:01I don't know.
04:02Let's Google.
04:03Let's look up a depth chart.
04:04Just take a quick second.
04:05Call me.
04:06Ask me.
04:06There you go.
04:07Does Dajon Love play for the San Francisco 49ers?
04:10I could tell you no with the quickness.
04:12Here's what I would first think.
04:13Maybe he's on the practice squad.
04:14He sounds kind of familiar.
04:15Maybe he went to, like, Middle Tennessee State.
04:17Let me look this guy up.
04:19Nope, don't see anything here.
04:20Nope, don't.
04:20Now, I might text Kyle Shanahan, but most people aren't going to do that.
04:23Right, they don't necessarily have Kyle's number yet.
04:24Maybe like, hey, Kyle, is Dajon Love on your team?
04:26But the point of the dude's story is we can get a pretty quick answer to know that guy, this
04:32little guy.
04:32That's not a thing.
04:33That's not a San Francisco 49er.
04:34Golly.
04:35But I just, when I first heard the story, I'm like, wow, that's pretty funny.
04:38Because this has happened before.
04:39If you remember, there was, like, a guy that posed to be a Steelers quarterback years ago that got in
04:43trouble.
04:43I don't remember which one it was.
04:44I don't remember that.
04:45It's been probably 15 years.
04:46Maybe dad looked that up.
04:48But somebody pretending to be, like, a backup quarterback for the Steelers, I feel like.
04:51Like, an actual guy.
04:52And he would just tell people at bars and stuff he was that player.
04:54Because everybody's done that.
04:55You know, where, like, we used to pretend for, like, see if we could get a discount at McDonald's.
05:00Like, we were, quote, unquote, filming a reality show.
05:02And, like, one of my buddies was, like, the star of the show.
05:04And we'd go in there and, like, no pictures, no pictures.
05:06And, like, we would all be pretending to have, like, cameras and stuff like that.
05:09That's very different than this, though.
05:10Or, like, you talk to a girl at a bar.
05:11Like, I already played for the Yankees.
05:13Like, Wedding Crashers.
05:14I was going to say, in Wedding Crashers, there's the scene.
05:17We lost a lot of good men out there.
05:18They're running through 15 weddings in a row.
05:20And he keeps pretending to be different jobs.
05:22And one of them, he's a New York Yankee.
05:25That's not the first time that's ever happened.
05:27But the nature with which he used social media and multiple accounts on multiple different apps to, I mean, everything
05:36he posted was as if he was playing for the Niners.
05:40My favorite video I saw, he's wearing a helmet.
05:43An actual 49ers, like, looks like it could be used in a game by, you know, Jawan Jennings.
05:49And he's running routes on air on the beach.
05:52And he looks like a guy who's never played football running routes on a beach.
05:56Have you seen the video?
05:57I haven't seen that one specifically, no.
05:59Look that up.
05:59Just look for that on Twitter.
06:01It's hysterical.
06:02He runs, like, a slant route and then has to go catch a pass.
06:05But, I mean, there's nothing overly athletic about this guy.
06:08Like, he does not run an NFL caliber route.
06:12It would take someone six seconds to go, nah, not this guy.
06:19But nobody could tell, apparently.
06:21Watch this route.
06:22Is this the one right here?
06:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:25He's drawing a route on a football.
06:26He's diagramming on the football.
06:27Which, that would not be a thing.
06:28You'd just tell him what route to run.
06:29These are just, like, the highlights, I guess, somebody put together real quick.
06:32But, my goodness.
06:33He's out on the field training.
06:34It's so terrible.
06:35He's got all the 49ers team-issued gear.
06:37I want to know where he got all that.
06:38Helmet and shorts.
06:39So, the guy's telling him, what you're going to do is run this way, but turn it like this.
06:42Have you ever seen, like, an NFL player getting a slant drawn on a football?
06:46Yeah, but this guy's, like, not drawing a slant.
06:48You see what I'm saying?
06:49He's talking for ten seconds about what to do.
06:52Oh, okay.
06:52If a receiver needs that much help, probably not a receiver.
06:55All right, so he's not in a good stance.
06:57That's the NFL route.
06:59Actually, I was sold on that, the head fake.
07:01He looks like just a guy who's never played football running around on a beach.
07:05If I was in way better shape, it's about how I would move.
07:11There's another picture that had me, that I actually LOL'd at, where he's putting on a helmet, like, at practice.
07:16He looks really sweaty.
07:17It looks like a training camp photo somewhere.
07:19But his visor's not on correctly.
07:21So, like, his visor's only halfway down over his face mask.
07:24Oh, God.
07:25And it's just like, this guy's not even good at pretending to be an NFL player.
07:29But if the 26 women, like, if you bump into a girl on the app who's a mark, she just
07:35knows everything about the Niners, she's a diehard fan, she's a season ticket holder, you've got to pull the ripcord
07:40right away, right?
07:40You've got to just bounce.
07:42Immediately.
07:42But, again, you're picking who you're scamming, and someone's like, yeah, my favorite 49er is Tom Rathman from back in
07:49the day.
07:49Then you've got to go.
07:50He's using all these drones and nice cars and stuff.
07:54I guess from the million dollars he got from the women.
07:57Yeah, but it's the, you always have need for more because you have to perpetuate this lifestyle and the scam
08:03at all times.
08:05But it is, like, being able to live that level of a lie is, again, I'm not admiring it.
08:10It's despicable and pathetic and ridiculous.
08:13Yeah.
08:13But I just am, I don't know how better to say it, like, I'm amazed that this is possible.
08:18How many people have to be in on it, too?
08:20So when he has pictures of, he calls her, like, Mom Dukes, his mom, and it's like, this league provides
08:25for mom.
08:26Is that a paid actress?
08:27Or is that his actual mom?
08:29I don't know.
08:29And is she in on the bit, or does she think he's in the league, too?
08:33Is he lying to her?
08:34Are you showing up at Christmastime, and everyone's like, are they going to call you up for the game Sunday?
08:39Like, you don't know.
08:40He's just on the practice squad.
08:40He's never given you access to a practice.
08:42Hundreds of posts.
08:44Again, I need this to be understood.
08:47Hundreds of posts.
08:48Like, I've done that as me over years and years and years.
08:51See what I'm saying?
08:52Like, me, just my little old engine that could, trying to stay relevant and, you know, put on the socials
08:58that people want to see.
08:59And I still haven't quite mastered it.
09:01Hundreds, hundreds of posts that all present this life that does not exist.
09:08All present this sort of fake persona.
09:10This isn't like the, hey, is this girl attractive?
09:13Oh, no, it's AI.
09:14It's all made up, or whatever.
09:15Like, this is a fake model.
09:16Something you have to deal with.
09:17Do a quick Google search.
09:18This is an unbelievable amount of effort to present a character or fictitious thing about yourself.
09:26And you can never turn it down.
09:28You can never turn it off.
09:29Otherwise, you'll be exposed.
09:30It finally was.
09:31Cap found the story about the backup quarterback.
09:36So, Captain America, I'll bring you in here real quick.
09:38What was that?
09:39I don't remember the details, but it's been a long time.
09:41So, it was the infamous...
09:43I'll pull your mic up a little bit.
09:44So, it was Brian Jackson.
09:46He was a Pittsburgh local, and he repeatedly posed as an active Steelers player to get dates to steal money.
09:52He started by posing himself as Roethlisberger.
09:55There you go.
09:55But then people realized, you're not.
09:57You're not.
09:57I've been Roethlisberger.
09:58So, then he switched to mimicking Brian St. Pierre, who was the third string.
10:03That's who it was.
10:04Yeah.
10:04He would go into bars, and he'd pick up chicks saying he was Brian St. Pierre, who was like the
10:08third string quarterback for the Steelers.
10:10I remember this.
10:11I'm surprised no one was talking about it yesterday, because it sounds eerily similar.
10:14Yep.
10:14What year was this?
10:15This was 05.
10:1605 and 06.
10:17So, this is the difference, though.
10:18It was a two-year scheme.
10:19This guy did not have the crazy social media stuff, because it wasn't really around.
10:23Now, he would have been on the same level as, I can't remember, Dajon Love.
10:28He would have had the Instagram and the Twitter, and maybe he would have been just as elaborate.
10:32But he did it for multiple years.
10:34And the amount of women that you take home and that are excited about meeting a Steeler or whatever, not
10:40to mention whatever you steal from them or take from them.
10:42I mean, it's just awful.
10:43Yeah, in 06, he went on to then pose himself as Steelers tight end Jerome Truman, in which he convinced
10:50a woman he was dating to loan him $3,200.
10:53And then he was eventually caught and sentenced to jail for 90 days.
10:57So, for the ladies listening out there, and I guess if you're listening to us, you're pretty plugged in on
11:01sport.
11:02One would think, yeah.
11:03You may not need this advice, but maybe you could pass this along to the fellow ladies and the girls
11:07in your life who maybe don't listen to 106.7, the fan of the Grant and Danny radio program.
11:12As a general rule, this is my experience from dating NFL players, right?
11:17Okay, right.
11:18When you're dating an NFL player, they will not be asking you to borrow money.
11:22There it is.
11:22Because if you're dating a player who's actually in the national, they got their own cash.
11:32Even if they're on the practice squad, they're making a few hunch.
11:35They don't need you to pay for dinner unless they forgot their wallet at home.
11:39They do that more than once.
11:40You might want to start asking some questions.
11:41That's what it is for me.
11:42I think what the young people use, certain terminology on the interwebs, on the socials, green flag, red flag.
11:52If a person you're dating, and I put that in quotation marks, says, I need $3,200.
11:59That's a great point.
12:00Set a record for how fast you sprint away from this person.
12:05Any walk of life?
12:06Panic?
12:07Run away?
12:08So, you're saying this is actually a really good point?
12:10Like, just dating.
12:10Now, if I'm engaged, and you've been with me for years, and you have a pretty good understanding that I
12:17am who I say I am, etc.,
12:19sometimes things happen to couples.
12:21Money is what it is.
12:22But if you're just dating, this is a new relationship, and everyone's having a great time.
12:26Can I have $3,200?
12:29That's a no from me, dog.
12:30Run away.
12:31Get out.
12:31What's the most you ever let someone you were dating borrow?
12:36Or, like, what would be...
12:37When does the green flag become to the red flag?
12:39Is it just the date money that night that you...
12:42I went on a date with a girl named Rebecca.
12:44This is true.
12:46And I forgot my wallet.
12:48It's still the most humiliated I've ever been.
12:50I legitimately forgot my wallet.
12:52And what I did try to do to make it up was I, you know, realized that when I was
12:56trying to pay the check, I couldn't.
12:57And I had to explain it.
12:59And I'm like, this is not some weird move.
13:00You know me.
13:01We have the same mutual friends.
13:02This is so terrible.
13:04And I saw the amount of the bill.
13:06And I, the next day, sent flowers to her office in the exact same amount, basically, as the check.
13:12And I still didn't get a second date.
13:14Which is totally fair.
13:14Totally fine.
13:15Understandable.
13:16I would not have given me one either.
13:17But that's what happened.
13:18But that's the only time it's ever been like, hey, things have been going good, right?
13:23Could I have $1,000?
13:25Or some girl asking me for that?
13:26No, is the answer.
13:28No.
13:28Yeah.
13:29We're not there yet.
13:30Like, now it's to the point where if my wife is like, I need $500.
13:32It's like, can we talk about that?
13:33What do you really need it for?
13:35What if we saved it?
13:36I wonder if Darius could ask a family member for $65.
13:40What they would say.
13:40I think now would be a good time.
13:42He might need $65 from somebody.
13:44Where are you going to spend it?
13:45Well, there might be a girl who pays attention to me on the strip.
13:48What if I get two cell phone photos with a girl wearing some old Air Force 1s?
13:52Her usual rate is $60.
13:54So, by the time you tip.
13:55They got their usual rate.
13:57They got the usual rate.
13:58Remember when Darius said, I can't do that?
14:00Bet you will.
14:01Give it about two minutes of bad negotiating.
14:03Yes, you can.
14:04I want to be in on your next negotiation with CK.
14:09It probably will go favor CK.
14:12Yeah, CK is going to slap you around a little bit.
14:14I can't do that.
14:15Advantage Chris Kiner.
14:16Yes, you can, Dale.
14:17Oh, man.
14:18As I just showed you, I texted my dad and asked him to listen to the segment.
14:22Does he know how?
14:23Well, yeah, he was busy listening to an alternate radio station.
14:26I told him, pretend like it's the 980 app, but just type in 106.7.
14:30Yeah, yeah.
14:31So, he figured it out, and he went back and listened to the segment, and you can go ahead
14:34and read his reaction.
14:35He goes, okay, I will listen to it.
14:36And he goes, no.
14:39I had to listen to 106.7.
14:41Oh, no, it was different?
14:41Yeah.
14:42No, it was different.
14:42Okay.
14:43Two hand, like, slaps my face emojis.
14:46Just listen to the segment.
14:47And then Darius sent him the photos.
14:50$67 for these dumb pictures.
14:53I'm so embarrassed.
14:55LOL.
14:56Oh, that's tough.
14:58That's all right, Cap.
14:59You'll get him next time.
15:00By the way, can I move that we officially change Darius' show nickname from Dad to Cap?
15:05I hereby second that emotion.
15:07I smelled it coming from 10 miles away.
15:09Tobes?
15:09Where else would Cap be from?
15:11How do we feel about that?
15:12What if Dad becomes Cap moving forward?
15:16Can you guys get behind that, or is Dad too good?
15:18I think it's definitely got to be Cap from now on.
15:21It's got to be.
15:22There it is.
15:22Cap.
15:23He said, call me Cap.
15:26You can call me Cap.
15:28Can I?
15:29Were you siced that you were getting called Captain America?
15:32Or siced that women were being nice to you?
15:35Like, which?
15:35How did we get to you can call me Cap?
15:37I think it was the recognition and appreciation of the Captain America shirt.
15:42Okay.
15:43That kind of went to my head a little bit.
15:45And then once they started asking, like, what's your name?
15:48I was like, I don't really want to give two checks.
15:51I'm never going to see in my life again my name.
15:52Oh, so you were hiding your name.
15:54That's why you said Captain America, of course.
15:56Yeah.
15:56So I just played along with the bit.
15:59Because she called me Cap initially in the instance where she put the lay on me and pulled me in.
16:03When you walked right at her.
16:04Yeah, when you made a beeline.
16:06Like you were sucked in by a tractor beam.
16:07You know?
16:09Just, I'm turning toward the escalator.
16:10Now, what I didn't know, he said today, and it actually explains so much.
16:14I thought he saw them and walked right at them.
16:17No.
16:17Which completely goes against everything we had just talked about.
16:20Correct.
16:20But he thought we were going to walk past them.
16:23Whereas we were going down the steps that were like eight feet in front of them.
16:25So he was actually walking toward them to walk past them.
16:28But it gave them the ability to throw their rope around him.
