FIFA hands Argentina's Paredes a 10-match ban over world cup final brawl

FIFA has banned three Argentina players, including a 10-match suspension for Leandro Paredes, along with fines against the team and federation for post-final violence and other incidents during the tournament.

00:00FIFA has handed down some of the most severe sanctions in World Cup history after Argentina
00:05players attacked Spanish players during this year's World Cup final.
00:11Midfielder Leandro Párez has received a 10-match ban after grabbing Spain's Eric Garcia by
00:16the throat and shoving Gabi to the ground, putting him alongside Ruiz Suárez's infamous
00:212014 ban as among the harshest in the tournament's history.
00:25Defender Nahuel Molina was suspended for seven games and Thiago Almada for one.
00:31All of them also faced fines of up to €76,000.
00:35For his part, Spain's Gabi received a one-game ban.
00:40Argentina coach Roberto Ayala was also hit with a three-game ban and a fine, while the
00:45Argentine Football Federation was fined €94,000 for a string of incidents during the tournament,
00:51including a political banner about the Falkland Islands and discriminatory chants from fans.
00:56It has now been ordered to spend €85,000 on anti-racism projects.
