00:00Let's get in our first triple play of the weekend, and Tom Morris has got this one. Tom, take it
00:05away.
00:06This one takes us to the tiny town of Needville, Texas, population 3,124.
00:13That's where a bizarre hit and run turned into a case of Texas vigilante justice.
00:21It's after hours at DJ Construction and Dirtwork, but that's not stopping this dude.
00:36He tries to back out, but does not get far.
00:45The tires spin, but this Chevy Silverado is going nowhere.
00:53He pokes his head out the window, pondering his next move.
01:01And back into the building he goes.
01:06And out again he comes.
01:10But instead of exiting through the hole in the fence,
01:18he creates a brand new hole.
01:22And then, the Silverado pulls away.
01:32107, just information, there's going to be some major property damage.
01:35A Needville police officer is now on the scene.
01:38I'm pretty sure I know who it is.
01:40I think D-Ray's trying to find him.
01:41D-Ray is the owner, and he's now in his truck trying to locate that Silverado.
01:47Yeah, he lives off of Richmond Street, where the truck is,
01:50but there's a certain person who drives said truck.
01:55They enter the building and assess the damage.
01:59And it's bad.
02:02I'm going to see if I can do a little research.
02:06The officer returns to his patrol car.
02:08I'm going to try to look up some stuff on my computer real quick.
02:11When they get a call from D-Ray.
02:14Who's saying that?
02:14Oh, he's on D-Ray, the owner.
02:16He's where?
02:16He's on 30.
02:17He's on 36.
02:19Okay.
02:20Heading back to the...
02:21I'm not on his ass.
02:23Okay.
02:23All right, he's heading back this way.
02:26The officer takes off in search of the Silverado.
02:30Hold on a sec.
02:31How are we attempting to locate that subject vehicle?
02:33As he heads towards downtown Rosenberg,
02:36here comes the Silverado.
02:39Freeze it.
02:40That's the suspect with his arm out the window,
02:43looking pretty chill.
02:45And there's D-Ray right on his tail.
02:49The officer makes a U-turn
02:53and quickly catches up with the two trucks.
02:58107, I'm going to be attempting to stop that subject vehicle.
03:01Yeah, 12,000 and a block.
03:02Carve 36.
03:02That's D-Ray with the hazards on.
03:05The officer passes
03:06and is now right behind the Silverado.
03:10107, they're still not yielding.
03:13Up ahead, the light's red
03:15and it looks like the Silverado's about to come to a stop.
03:20When here comes D-Ray.
03:22Oh, he's a little block.
03:23Oh, okay.
03:28107, we're stuck.
03:2912,000 block, Carve 36.
03:32Hey!
03:33The officer approaches the suspect.
03:35Get that shit off!
03:36But it looks like D-Ray is already talking with him.
03:39Get out of the truck.
03:40Go past your side.
03:42Out of the truck.
03:43Out that way.
03:44Get out that way.
03:47Out of the truck.
03:49Get out of the truck now!
03:50Yes, sir.
03:51Get out of the truck!
03:52Yes, sir.
03:52Out of the truck.
03:53The driver seems to be in no hurry to get out of the truck.
03:56Get out of the truck.
03:57And D-Ray's patience is quickly growing thin.
04:00Get out over there now.
04:02Yes, sir.
04:03Go!
04:03The driver is pulled from the truck.
04:06On your stomach.
04:08Hands behind your back.
04:09Hands behind your back.
04:10Finally, with some help from D-Ray,
04:14the officer's able to get the driver in cuffs.
04:17Son of a...
04:18One to seven, show one to ten.
04:20Come on.
04:21Get up.
04:21Get your ass up.
04:22Come on.
04:23Roll over.
04:24A second officer arrives on the scene.
04:26Sit up.
04:26Oh, Augustine.
04:27Yeah.
04:28What's up, buddy?
04:29Why aren't you getting up?
04:32I had to pull him out the car.
04:33What's your deal?
04:34And at this point, it's hard to tell who's more wrecked, the truck or the driver.
04:42They lift up his pants, and he's led to a patrol car.
04:49Hey, man.
04:50I'm sorry.
04:51I didn't mean to cut in front of you to bump his ass out, but...
04:54It's okay.
04:55The officer forgives D-Ray and then has a quick question for the driver.
05:00How much have you had to drink today?
05:01One or two, brother.
05:03One or two?
05:04Okay.
05:05Do you remember running through that building back there?
05:08Drove right into a building.
05:1440-year-old Augustine Garcia is now being held on a $20,000 bond in the Fort Bend County Jail,
05:21where he's been charged with evading arrest with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
05:26As for the damaged business, D-Ray posted this note for his customers.
05:30As many of you may already know, a drunk driver drove through our building,
05:35causing significant property damage.
05:37We know this building used to be Stubbies.
05:39But just in case anyone forgot, we no longer serve drinks,
05:43and we definitely don't have a drive-thru.
05:46You know, I think that the best thing that may have happened to that suspect
05:49is the fact that the police...
05:51Oh, we're there.
05:52The police got involved.
05:53I was thinking the same...
05:55Because I think D-Ray...
05:56D-Ray, my man.
05:56Yeah, my man, D-Ray.
05:58D-Ray pits him, and, you know...
06:01A little small-town Texas justice.
06:03Exactly.
06:03I've actually been there, Dan, to Rosenberg, Texas.
06:06You called it downtown Rosenberg.
06:08Yes.
06:08I was thinking, is there an uptown?
06:09No, it looks like the last picture show.
06:12Yeah, all right.
06:12Totally.
