The search continues for a teenager who disappeared while hiking alone in the Southern Highlands. Lily Hooper was reported missing by her family on Wednesday after she failed to return from a hike in the Nattai National Park. The SES, police rescue crews and other agencies have spent the day searching for the 18-year-old. Rescue helicopters hovered above a walking trail not far from where her car was found, broadcasting a message in the hope she would hear it and call for help.

00:10Lily Hooper was last seen leaving her Oakdale home at about 8am on Wednesday morning
00:14to go for a hike in the Southern Highlands National Park.
00:17A multi-agency search involving the SES, Police Rescue and New South Wales Ambulance is underway
00:23with about a dozen emergency service vehicles stationed here at the car park to the trail.
00:28The Australian Defence Force joined search efforts last night.
00:32It's a multi-agency response. A lot of assets are being used, Polair, Westpac Lifesaver, Chopper,
00:42as well as trains, trail bikes as well as patrols on foot and motor vehicle.
00:49Police were called on Wednesday evening after the experienced bushwalker did not arrive home
00:54and was unable to be contacted. Her vehicle was found near the Bonampick walking trail off
01:00Wanganderry Road. A rescue helicopter has been flying above the National Park and earlier announced,
01:05if you require our assistance, please get our attention by making as much noise as possible
01:11or give a reflection to our helicopter. Police and family hold serious concerns for Lily's welfare.
01:16The New South Wales Premier has offered his heartfelt support to the family.
01:20I want to thank everybody who's involved in that search. Our heart goes out to that young walker's family.
01:27We know this must be heartbreaking and incredibly anxious. I'm praying for good news.
01:32Lily is being described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170 centimetres tall,
01:38of slim build, with long blonde hair and blue eyes.
01:41Anyone who has walked the trail over the last three days is being urged to come forward with any information.
