00:04A tropical rainstorm southeast of Hawaii is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Lala.
00:09It's not out of the question for it to reach hurricane strength this weekend, too.
00:12Now, as it tracks just south of the islands, even without that direct hit,
00:17the big island could see 8 to 12 inches of rain with an AccuWeather local storm max of 24 inches,
00:22bringing a risk of flash flooding and mudslides.
00:24Plus, wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph could spread across the islands,
00:27with gusts as high as 85 mph possible.
00:30The exact track will determine where the worst rain and wind set up,
