00:07On Monday, Meta published a 6,500-word manifesto from Zuckerberg called The Future is for Everyone.
00:13He argues that superintelligence is the future of mankind and should be broadly distributed to billions of people
00:20and not held by a few labs or governments.
00:23He says concentration is a bigger risk than AI going rogue,
00:26and once superintelligence goes live, he predicts everyone will have a personal AI agent
00:31working 24-7 on their health, career, finances, and their relationships.
00:35Zuckerberg also names America's biggest fears about AI.
00:39Job loss, surveillance, cyber attacks.
00:41His answer to all of them is the same.
00:44Spread superintelligence to everyone and level the playing field.
00:47Anthony Aguirre of the Future of Life Institute asked the AP what qualifies Meta
00:52or anyone to control something this powerful and called Meta's path, quote,
00:56one of human replacement and disempowerment.
00:59TechCrunch mostly panned the manifesto as vague and self-serving.
01:02Even so, it conceded Zuckerberg is right that access to AI is not equal.
01:07On the flip side, Axios described it as his most direct statement yet on where he thinks AI is headed.
01:13But the public isn't sold.
01:14Pew Research asked Americans about all of this last September,
01:18and half said they are more concerned than excited about AI.
