00:00As it is reported, the Prime Minister has demanded a plan that will keep the killers, two of the killers
00:04of Police Constable Andrew Harper, behind bars ahead of their scheduled release early next year.
00:09How confident are you that they will stay in jail?
00:12Well, the Prime Minister is really clear that it is unacceptable what happened to PC Harper, who was protecting people
00:19through his public service and his duty.
00:22It is completely unacceptable that the prisons crisis that we inherited because the Tories failed to create the prison places,
00:30that we're looking at letting people out early.
00:33We're cracking down on when people are released in terms of surveillance and tagging, so we're strengthening the surveillance of
00:39those that are released.
00:40But the Prime Minister is really clear that the Justice Secretary will come to Parliament in September to lay out
00:46our plans on how we keep the most serious criminals in jail.
00:52And that would include killers of Police Officers?
