07:47And then if it looks like there's a bobble, you take off and you go.
07:51The pop-up, the guy just assumes that that catch is going to be made.

08:19And I just think there's no worse look in baseball than that.
08:26And in a weird way, it's worse for the highly paid guy.

08:37So, like, it's a reflection on the manager.
08:39And not that he's going to, you know, barge out there and, like,
08:43yank him off of first base and pinch run for him and embarrass him.
08:45But at some point, there's got to be something that you do to, like,
08:50I don't know, express the feeling that this is not okay.
08:53Because you mentioned it five times and Pasta said four or five times.
08:57And you're a veteran.
08:58You understand that when you hit the ball into the field of play,
09:02sometimes things can happen.
09:04And if you are busting your hump,
09:06you might be able to grab second base on a cheapy double.
09:09Or you might, I don't know,
09:11at least get to first and draw a throw or whatnot.
09:13That, to me, and again, this is not me indicting Tony Vitello,
09:17but it's another example of a rookie manager who does not have the command
09:22or maybe he's not ready to have the command of the clubhouse
09:26to where this is not going to happen anymore.
09:28I mean, the only way you do that, I mean, you would sit a guy down.
09:31And I don't even know, you know, from Tony's perspective,
09:36everything is a cost-benefit analysis.
09:38And so you're like, okay, I could sit him down in the middle of a season
09:41where we're 20 games under .500.
09:44And is that going to piss him off?
09:46Probably.
09:47Does he need to be pissed off?
09:49Probably.
09:50But in the grand scheme of things,
09:52and I'm not saying it's one way or the other.
09:54I'm just saying what the process is like.
09:56You have to figure out, is it worth pissing him off at this point?
10:00And are you willing to kind of take the bullets that come with that?
10:04And even if you did that,
10:05I have no idea if that means Rafi would start running.
10:09But it's almost like you can put yourself in Devers' head
10:12and do the whole, like, okay, it's a 1-0 baseball game.

10:19You've got to get to over to second base
10:20and get yourself in scoring position.
10:22The other way you could respond to this is, who cares?
10:25It's not like winning this baseball game has got, like, okay,
10:28oh, the Giants lost.

10:43and I think it's your job to do your level best.

10:53is up to each and every one of you to decide,
10:55but there's no way around this.

11:55how bad they were when I go back and look at the numbers.
11:57I don't remember feeling the way I feel about this year,

12:05and Adamas is out there, you know, glad-handing,
12:08and apparently not working on his craft before the game.
12:10But now he is because, you know, the reaction came back
12:13and your third baseman's barking at Casey Schmidt
12:15to catch the bleeping ball, and then now he's hurt.
12:18And you've got Jung-Hoo Lee the other day
12:20out in right field.
12:21He turns one way, he turns the other way,
12:23and he falls down, and you lose the game.
12:25And it's not to single out any person,
12:27but they've been sloppy.
12:29It should be pitching and defense, but it's not.
12:32You had to get rid of your catcher
12:33because he was not a very good hitter,
12:36but a good defensive player.
12:37The whole thing has been kind of a calamity,
12:39and you probably won't lose 100 games
12:41like you did in 85, but, I mean, you're allowed to, right?

13:16but at the same time,
13:18you're probably not that interested
13:20in even winning games.

14:37it is, to me, overwhelming for the fan
14:40to work their way through all of the things

15:13when he's walked three straight hitters
15:16and does not have much cachet in this league
15:19because you just got here last year.

15:30But where is the decorum of being a teammate?
15:34Where is the decorum of listening to your leaders?

15:40what your fan base is hoping you do
15:42in terms of how you conduct yourself on the field?

15:47I won't say this whole team
15:48because there's a lot of dudes out there
15:50that bust it.
15:52And I love watching them play.
15:54But there are too many of them
15:56who I don't know what their goal is
16:00or what their motivation is
16:02or what's going on in their head during a game
16:05where they seem to feel like something is owed to them.
16:08That it doesn't feel to us like it's owed to them.

16:13when you are 49 and 69.

16:27And that's, to me,
16:28the bigger issue is about Tony Vitello.
16:30And I think that he was put in an impossible spot.
16:33And if you've got a pitcher, Landon Roop,
16:36who's barely been here for two years,
16:38if two years, right, in totality,
16:39and you're going to treat the manager like that,
16:42that tells me that Tony Vitello
16:44has yet to establish himself
16:46and get the respect
16:47that he needs to get in the clubhouse.
16:50And the other part of it is Rafi Devers,
16:52where you're the highest paid player on the team,
16:55maybe in franchise history.
16:56I'd have to look at the math
16:58to see if that's actually the case.

17:04You're in there every day.
17:05You should be the number one guy saying,

21:39a big fat loaf,
