00:00We have numerous thunderstorms across the southeast, and again, I know that the worst of it has been just north
00:05of the Virginia-North Carolina line,
00:07but we've got downpours in many other spots.
00:10South Florida favoring the Atlantic side of Florida.
00:12Now we have more storms popping late in the afternoon and the early evening, pushing south from I-10 and
00:17I-12 into southern Louisiana.
00:19It was two weeks ago today when we were bracing for Bertha to make landfall.
00:26It happened on Wednesday a week ago, so 13 days ago.
00:30And we had some severe weather.
00:32In fact, two weeks ago today we were doing that YouTube live simulcast across the northeast.
00:37But overall, we're dealing with storms.
00:38Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, you could use some more rain northwest side of town between Lake Norman and the northwestern suburbs
00:43facing some downpours.
00:45And in Anderson, it's been dry in many of these areas.
00:48We've seen some progress recently, though.
00:50You can see actually more than just progress, flash flooding there in Surrey County, North Carolina.
00:56That was footage from the 2nd of August would have been, what, Sunday.
01:00So, again, sometimes drought relief comes a little bit too heavily.
01:04Showers and storms east of I-4, not far from the Tampa Fairgrounds, a little farther east now into the
01:08interior.
01:09Wednesday, we're going to have more thunderstorms over the next few days.
01:12Thursday as well.
01:12Most of these will be near and east of I-65 and along the Gulf Coast.
01:17And Friday, we've got more of the same with showers, thunderstorms, steamy weather.
01:20Let's take a look at this next weekend here.
01:24The Bermuda-Azores High is going to be directing plenty of moisture around the southern periphery of this broad circulation
01:30right into the southeast.
01:31That will bring more thunderstorms to the map there.
01:34Widespread showers and storms, the flash flood risk.
01:37We're going to have some pretty decent rain here.
01:39And this is a nice way to chip away at the drought that continues to officially still be in effect
01:44there.
01:44I was down at Hilton Head, South Carolina, a few weeks ago.
01:48And they're still officially in drought, though it's not that obvious there because the rain does happen somewhat frequently this
01:55time of the year.
01:56But technically, still, the water table is suffering a bit.
