00:00Now, this is one where if you can pick the winner, it's the best investment of all of the awards.
00:04It's the National League Manager of the Year.
00:07It is completely wide open right now.
00:09It feels like, Tom, for whatever reason, they don't want to give Pat Murphy the award again because he keeps
00:16winning it.
00:16So if that's the case, I mean, is Walt Weiss really the Manager of the Year?
00:21I mean, you know, Ali Marmol was in this conversation.
00:24He is out.
00:26Clayton McCullough, he was near the top.
00:28Then he dropped off.
00:29Now he's back here again.
00:31Don Mattingly, where has he gone, Tom?
00:34Don Mattingly was going to be the Manager of the Year at one point.
00:37Do you still think that he is in the mix?
00:39Maybe if they come back and make the playoffs, but he has fallen back quite a bit.
00:43Dave Roberts, they win 100.
00:45He's not even mentioned.
00:47Man, like, I don't know.
00:49Like, how about Torrey Lavello?
00:51Maybe Torrey Lavello's name should pop up here.
00:53I think this is a wide range of outcomes here, Tom.
00:56It really is.
00:56We're looking at, what, there's six or seven options all within 15-ish percent of each other.
01:02Now, Walt Weiss leading the way makes sense when you say, okay, the Braves, they win a very tough division.
01:08At least coming into the year, I think, okay, this is going to be one of the toughest divisions in
01:11all of baseball.
01:11I understand that.
01:13To me, the other option, I understand them not giving it to Pat Murphy from Milwaukee.
01:18Again, that's a very reasonable thing.
01:20I think with some of these other teams, they need to make the playoffs in order for, you know, their
01:24manager to truly be in the mix to win that award.
01:26Don Mattingly falling so far is a little bit surprising.
01:29And frankly, that'd be one of the ones that I have interest in backing.
01:33You know, if they can surge and at least get closer to the division, I think that would be impactful
01:38considering where the Phillies were and then them coming so close to winning division.
01:42That's what put Mattingly in the conversation.
01:44I think you could just end up going to Walt Weiss.
01:46I don't think that's a fun or exciting outcome, but I think that's what it could be.
01:49I think that's what it could be.
