00:03rain is and we have had some of those flash flood warnings persisting here across parts of Atlanta and even
00:10into Birmingham at times we've had some of the flash flood warnings mostly the thunderstorms starting to weaken a little
00:15bit here with this cluster that has been so persistent on the I-20 corridor anywhere between Birmingham and Atlanta
00:21you have had rounds of rain today it's why those flash flood warnings have been issued to the north of
00:27everything we're trying to bring in that cold front
00:29it's not really diving in it is allowing though for some of that moisture to rebuild across the Appalachians we
00:36have most of our thunderstorm activity though on the coast like you see in Myrtle Beach still a lot of
00:41rainfall here moving off the Carolinas I think there's another round trying to pull out tomorrow morning so your views
00:47probably aren't going to change much let's talk rainfall totals because whether you have been in North Carolina Georgia or
00:54South Carolina you've probably had some rain in the past 24 hours and that has been the case
00:59for places like Gainesville Georgia northern Georgia picking up more than five and a half inches of rain in several
01:05different spots including Alfredo Georgia and as you work your way towards South Lawn or Fort Lawn rather South Carolina
01:12that's in northern South Carolina you can see that yellow point the Outer Banks there is that yellow just along
01:18the coast that is where we've seen more than five and a half inches of rain so it's been a
01:22wet time you can see how the rain has just tracked across the region not as much in the Sunshine

01:29right flooding concerns they're still out there we still have some of those flood watches remaining in place so make
01:34sure you're paying attention to any of the alerts coming in on the AccuWeather app through your phone because they'll
01:39give you an idea of what that weather is like to come next few hours here's what's going on the
01:44thunderstorms they're still holding on here across the Carolinas it does try to develop some of that stuff across the
01:50Appalachians which we have not seen that much rainfall there so not sure that that cluster really takes off but
01:55through the south certainly could see some heavy rain into South Carolina
01:59as we venture into tomorrow morning then beyond that you start to see this front sagging a little farther south
02:04the new energy western Tennessee middle Tennessee driving down into Alabama and southern Georgia so it does give a break
02:11to a few folks across the Appalachians but not everyone will catch that break so there still will be a
02:19good amount of rain through the southeastern U.S. tonight we're still dealing with the thunderstorms just about everywhere you
02:24can find them from Little Rock to Charlotte
02:26even towards the coastline there Myrtle Beach as you work your way towards Jackson Mississippi and New Orleans we don't
02:32have the thunderstorms and that's going to come into place as we go into tomorrow because New Orleans we're going
02:38to start to feel the heat go up and by Sunday the heat's really cranking the thunderstorms will get trimmed
02:43back Sunday here as we close out the weekend so we're going to find less of them across the southeast
02:48which is why your weekend forecast looks like this notice the cloud icons pretty prominent
02:53there for Raleigh Nashville Atlanta but when you flip to Sunday we do get a little bit more sunshine there
02:59so the rain chances go down a little bit we get a few more breaks it should be a slightly
03:04brighter day to close out the weekend
