00:08Hi, I'm Michelangelo from Wonderland Beauty Parlor in New York City. I'm here
00:12with Laura to teach her how to trim her bangs. The tools that you're going to
00:15need to trim your own bangs include a comb. A comb is going to give you
00:19greatest control when you're sectioning, hair cutting scissors, again you want
00:24great great control when you're doing this, and clips to section off the hair.
00:29So the first step that you're going to take is sectioning your hair. Take the
00:34side of your hair, pull it out away from your head, and just comb through and let
00:38all of the shorter hairs fall out and the longer hair stay in your hand. You're
00:42going to pull them back and secure them with a clip. And repeat that step on the
00:46other side. So you're going to start with a 1 inch wide section, gather it together in
00:52your fingertips, and give it a little pinch. You're going to want to use this tip of
00:57your scissor to cut upward toward your finger in little points so that any
01:00unevenness is disguised. Then you're going to want to add to this middle section a
01:09half inch from each side. Bring that all together really toward the center of your
01:18nose. Cut along that, and then bring the outside edges in toward that middle piece.
01:24Follow the same instructions. When you're point cutting your bang, move your scissors to
01:30different angles to get off different amounts of hair from different points.
01:35Because Laura wears her bangs PC, this is a very easy look to maintain oneself. If your
01:40bangs are very blunt, or if it's a very specific and dramatic look you're wearing,
01:45please talk to your hairstylist about how they would recommend you maintain yourself
01:49in between visits. They may even offer you a complimentary bang trim to keep you up in
01:53between cuts. And then shake your hair out and see what you've got. Couldn't be
02:00easier, right?
02:05And that's it. See, it wasn't too scary and it'll save you a little bit of time in
02:09between visits.
