00:00Next, Marvel's Rivals Season 9 introduces Jubilee, new game modes, and major gameplay
00:07challenges.
00:09Marvel's Rivals Season 9 is almost here, bringing a new playable hero, fresh content,
00:15and significant gameplay updates that will affect both team strategies and character
00:19balance.
00:20Jubilee joins the roster.
00:23The biggest addition in Season 9 is Jubilee, who joins the game as a strategist.
00:27Her abilities focus on supporting teammates by using energy plasmoids to heal allies while
00:33simultaneously damaging and temporarily blinding enemies.
00:37Her ultimate unleashes a spectacular fireworks display that can overwhelm opponents during
00:42battle.
00:44New map called Thebes, Season 9 also introduces Thebes, a brand new convoy map scheduled to
00:55launch on July 23rd, 2026.
00:58While the developers have yet to reveal many details, it will expand the game's multiplayer
01:03map rotation with a new battleground.
01:06Path to Doomsday continues.
01:08On July 30th, players will receive the next chapter of the Path to Doomsday event with the
01:13arrival of Avengers Age of Ultron.
01:16This new mode sends players into Avengers Tower and Ultron's data space to battle Ultron and
01:22his robotic forces.
01:24Seasonal activities themed around the event will also appear in the game's Times Square
01:28lobby, giving players additional content to explore.
01:32Team-up system gets a major overhaul.
01:34One of the most significant changes in Season 9 is a complete redesign of the team-up ability
01:40system.
01:41Every hero will now have two separate team-up loadouts, allowing players to choose the one
01:47that best fits their preferred playstyle before a match begins.
01:51Loadouts can be switched during a match while inside the spawn room.
01:54Each team-up consists of two parts.
01:57Base effect, always active and provides the core mechanics and functionality of the team-up
02:01ability.
02:03Enhanced effect, unlocks additional bonuses or upgraded abilities when the required teammate
02:08is present in the match.
02:10As part of the overhaul, existing team-up abilities have been reworked with several fan favorites
02:15returning alongside entirely new combinations.
02:19Black Widow receives a complete rework.
02:22Black Widow is receiving one of the largest character updates since the game's launch.
02:26Her traditional aim-down-sight sniper mode has been removed from her standard kit and transformed
02:32into her new ultimate ability.
02:34That's a good thing?
02:36During the ultimate, players can enter sniper mode for a limited time, firing powerful rounds
02:44with significantly wider hitboxes that can pierce multiple enemies.
02:49Although critical hits will no longer eliminate opponents instantly, the shots still deal heavy
02:54damage with no range damage reduction.
02:58Outside of her ultimate, Black Widow's primary weapon now fires faster while her charged Electroplasma
03:04Blast has been moved into her standard ability set.
03:07The attack deals damage and slows enemies at strikes.
03:11Mobility has also been improved.
03:13Sprinting and super jumping no longer consume stamina, and her spinning kick remains intact.
03:19She also gains an entirely new aerial ability that lets her leap toward a target location before
03:24slamming into the ground with her Widow's bike gauntlets dealing area effect damage upon impact.
03:32With a new hero, additional content, sweeping team-up changes, and a major Black Widow redesign, Season
03:399 is shaping up to be one of Marvel Rivals' most substantial updates to date.
03:46Okay, everything I read about Black Widow, the most, uh, the ones that sounded the greatest were, um, it still
03:56remains intact, what she had before.
04:00Um, her sniping ability, she can only, she can only do that for a time, because it's now part of
04:05her ultimate attack.
04:06And, what did it say, um, although critical hits will no longer eliminate opponents instantly, they still do, they still
04:17do massive damage.
04:18Oh, well, thank goodness that they still do massive damage at least, um, but they don't eliminate opponents anymore.
04:31How are they trying to spin this into a good thing?
04:34You take, you took a character that had a fatal attack, you know, with, with, with circumstances, and made it
04:42non, made it non-lethal.
04:45But they still provide a whole lot of damage.
04:49Wow.
04:51That makes up for it.
04:55Um, as far as I go, I've really never cared about Jubilee.
04:59Um, she was, you know, I mean, I was, the biggest part of me that loved Marvel was the Marvel
05:08Ultimate Alliance games.
05:10And even, like, uh, the X-Men Legends games.
05:13Um, but Jubilee, to me, was kind of like, just as, um, notable, notable as, like, Jean Grey, or, you
05:23know, or someone else.
05:25You know, it's like, they're not the characters I care about.
05:29Obviously, I would hope, I didn't go, I didn't check the, um, entire roster, but I would hope that all
05:35the characters that I would care about were no-brainers to be there since day one.
05:39Um, but with what they did to Black Widow, now I'm starting to wonder if, maybe I should have checked
05:46the, uh, roster for main rival, for, um, Marvel Rivals.
05:53Um, but, uh, if you're, if you're interested in that, this stuff, uh, starts, um, will be here.
06:01Uh, the new map, uh, comes in about a week and a half, two weeks, two weeks, really.
06:07And then, that, uh, new game, Path to Doomsday, uh, the next chapter of that, comes on the 30th.
06:15So, if you are playing Marvel, um, Rivals, uh, that, that, that stuff is, uh, keep an eye out for
06:22the, for those, um, additions.
06:26Time for the next, uh, story.
