00:00And you have to, you don't play boxing, okay?
00:03You don't play mixed martial arts.
00:06That's the thing about practicing soccer or practicing basketball
00:10that's so different than fighting.
00:12If you're actually sparring, and I mean you're fighting competitive rounds,
00:18you're getting cracked.
00:20You're getting punched, kicked.
00:22You're getting choked out.
00:24You're dealing with a lot of pain in the training camp
00:28to get ready for the night in which you're trying to perform
00:32at the highest of levels.
00:33After all the bruising and battering you take during training camp,
00:37then you go and weight cut.
00:40And you suffer, not so much for Conor and Max
00:42because the weight cut wasn't a problem,
00:44but for fighters trying to get down to their fight weight of 155 or 145,
00:48guys who are dropping down from 250 to 205,
00:51guys who are trying to lose a ton of weight.
00:53You sit there and suffer for 48 hours trying to cut down weight
00:57to make the scale.
00:59So after all the bruising and banging and all the crap you take
01:02to get ready for the fight, now you go cut weight
01:05and your body gets stripped of all of its nutrients.
01:08Your body gets stripped of all of its moisture,
01:11all the lifeblood, all the life-giving things that you need,
01:15you then rip it out of you.
01:17For two straight days, you sit in saunas,
01:20in hot tubs, in towels, and you just sit there and suffer
01:25till you get to the weigh-in.
01:26And then you weigh in and then you go and rehydrate.
01:30And your body, after being sucked down like a sponge
01:32in the Vegas sun, now you're thrown back
01:35and you give it all this nutrients, way too much nutrients,
01:38water, rehydration.
01:40You blow up like a balloon.
01:42Then you go fight.
01:46Then you have to go perform.
01:48It's what people just don't understand
01:50when they start throwing around all these conspiracy theories
01:53about where Conor is and what Conor did
01:56and what he looked like and all this stuff.
01:59It's really difficult on the body.
02:02And Conor is 38 years old.
02:05He's 38.
02:07He's not 18.
02:08This is a young man's sport.
02:10So him going and trying to do something spectacular
02:15at the start of that fight, to me,
02:17told me that Conor knows he's done.
02:21Conor knows that he is no longer able to fight
02:24at the highest elite levels,
02:26the world-class levels for mixed martial arts.
02:29That he was going to get hurt probably by Max.
02:32And so he tried to do the Jose Aldo knockout
02:36in the first five seconds.
02:37Let's see if I can catch him with a kick.
02:39He's going to run in.
02:41Let's see if I can catch him with a kick.
02:43And he went for it.
02:44And he landed.
02:45And his knee popped.
02:48Was the knee already compromised?
02:50Probably.
02:51Yeah.
02:52But that's not a conspiracy.
02:54That's just because guys get knee compromised all the time.
02:58Look, I'm 49 years old.
03:03There's all sorts of things that happen to you as you get older.
03:05You get hurt doing dumb things.
03:07I got hurt falling down the stairs.
03:08I tore my pec.
03:10But while I've been,
03:11I have to go back having another MRI on my shoulder
03:15because my pec injury has been healed.
03:17I'm fixed from my surgery.
03:20But now I have a problem with my shoulder in my bicep
03:23from going through rehab.
03:25I have now injured the shoulder.
03:27So now I need an MRI to figure out
03:30what's happening with the shoulder.
03:31Just what happens when you get older?
03:33You just get hurt.
03:35You're more injured.
03:37You're more injury prone.
03:39So I don't think this is some big conspiracy theory
03:43about what Conor McGregor went through.
03:46I think whether he was hurt previously or not,
03:49Conor was sound to fight.
03:51You have to be cleared by the Nevada Sports Commission,
03:55by their doctors.
03:56They don't take that stuff lightly.
03:59Okay?
04:00This is not a child's game.
04:02This is not in...
04:03Look, if this fight was in like Texas or something,
04:05I might go, all right, it's an inexperienced commission.
04:08Who knows who that doctor is?
04:10This is in Nevada.
04:11This was T-Mobile Arena.
04:13This is what Nevada does.
04:16So I am not saying that there was anybody compromised,
04:20that Conor had some injury that everybody knew about,
04:24and that Conor was able to...
04:25You know, he was warming up, kicking, aggressively kicking.
04:29We all saw that on the broadcast.
04:31He walked in.
04:33Whether he was walking gingerly
04:34or whether he was walking favoring a knee,
04:37I don't think the knee was to the point where he couldn't fight.
04:41Did the knee explode during the fight?
04:44Yes.
04:45Does that happen when you try something
04:48that maybe you're not 100%?
04:50Yup.
04:51Why did he do it?
04:53Well, that's a whole...
04:54Only Conor knows why he did it.
04:56To me, the body language was bad for Conor.
04:59Okay?
05:00It was bad.
05:01I think because he knew who he was fighting.
05:03I think he knew who he was going up against.
05:06Remember, Conor is just trying to fight out the next two fights.
05:12He just got one done.
05:13Now he's got one left.
05:14Once he gets that one fight done,
05:17he then can go sign.
05:18He's a free agent.
05:19He can go do whatever he wants.
05:21That ultimately is what Conor's trying to do.
05:23It's why the UFC gave him Max Holloway.
05:25Max got a big payday,
05:27and Max is like, let's run it back
05:28because Conor's got one fight left,
05:30and he knows Conor's got one fight left on his deal.
05:32So it makes perfect sense why Conor would...
05:35Why Max wants that.
05:36He just made a ton of money in 69 seconds
05:39for doing nothing.
05:40Didn't throw a single punch, really.
05:42And Max got a huge payday.
05:44So Max is like, let's do it again.
05:46Let's...
05:46In nine months,
05:47when Conor's got his knees back,
05:49let's go.
05:51I don't think that's going to happen.
05:53There is tons of speculation
05:55that Conor could wind up fighting
05:57for Zufa boxing.
05:58I don't think that's going to happen.
