Palace to Narvasa: 'To say Marcos has influence on VP Sara death threat probe a low-class argument'

The Malacañang said on Thursday, July 9, to "insinuate" that President Marcos has something to do with the investigation of the alleged death threats of Vice President Sara Duterte against him, First Lady Liza Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, is a "low-class" argument.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro said this in a press briefing, after defense lawyer Atty. Carlo Narvasa argued on the third day of the impeachment trial against Duterte, that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is under the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the latter is under the Office of the President, leading to the implication of the President's possible influence on the death threat probe.

Castro argued that the NBI has its own mandate and it is the duty of the agency to investigate the alleged death threats against the President. (Video courtesy of RTVM)
