00:00Qatar says it expects the framework agreement between the United States and Iran to be signed
00:05in Geneva on Friday, with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz forming part of the deal.
00:10But foreign ministry spokesperson Dr. Majl Ansari cautioned that the region would not
00:15simply return to business as usual after months of conflict, saying rebuilding trusts and
00:20establishing a new regional security framework would take time.
00:24We are cautiously optimistic that the signing of the memorandum of Afghanistan will lead to
00:29a next phase of regional security. These are issues that have plagued the region for decades.
00:35They will not be resolved in mere days.
00:38Ansari said the memorandum is expected to restore normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz,
00:44allowing Qatar to resume LNG exports and easing pressure on global energy markets.
00:50We are confident that, as reported, the MOU will reopen the Strait for Normal Navigation,
00:56and that would allow countries like Qatar to again be supplying energy to the world.
01:03Qatar says the agreement is an important first step, but that much work still lies ahead.

01:12forming part of the framework, attention is now turning to implementation,
01:16and whether the current momentum can be translated into lasting stability across the region.
