00:00Elliot Wolfe talked yesterday, and I want to start with this.
00:03Can you contrast his statements about Christian Barmore and his statements about Diggs?
00:11A little.
00:12It feels like, in my experience, they want to really put a priority on trying to figure out a way
00:18to bring Diggs back.
00:20And I'm not necessarily saying that they don't want Barmore back,
00:23but if you had to stack one against another, I think Diggs is more of a priority.
00:28Especially when you look at this draft, I think there are more options for them.
00:31When you look at some really good defensive tackles, some edge guys,
00:35some guys who can give you a little bit of oomph up front,
00:38there are more guys who might fit that classification as opposed to wide receiver.
00:43And that includes free agency as well.
00:45So I think that's all part of the same conversation.
00:48But I do think, again, at least in my experience,
00:51they're more interested at this point in bringing Diggs back as opposed to Barmore.
00:54That doesn't mean they want to deal Barmore this offseason.
00:58I just think that if you're, again, you're trying to contrast one versus another,
01:02I think they'd prefer Diggs as opposed to Barmore if you had to make a question.
01:06I disagree with Barmore.
01:08I mean, there are so many things Elliott Wolfe could have said
01:10when you guys asked him about Barmore yesterday.
01:13He's a really good player.
01:14You know, we want to find a way to keep him here.
01:17You know the way it goes.
01:19He went out of his way just to say, well, he's learning, he's trying to improve,
01:25we're helping him with that.
01:26Anything but we look forward to having him on our team next year.
01:30He's a valuable part of the defense.
01:32He didn't say any of that.
01:34That and the lack of support from the original statement
01:37when we found out that he was going to go and wind up in court
01:41leads me to believe that I think he won't be on this team next year.
01:45I think that we are looking at a situation where Elliott is making phone calls
01:51and trying to figure out a way to, I don't want to say set the table for his departure,
01:58but that could also come during the season, John.
02:01You know, you could also see a Keon White type of situation
02:04where they don't feel like they're getting what maybe Christian Barmore is worth
02:08in return, a trade, a Christian Barmore trade.
02:11And so they might hold on to him until the trade deadline.
02:14So I think ultimately it's still a very fluid situation.
02:18I'm interested in hearing from Mike Rabel today on Christian Barmore.
02:22He's supposed to talk with us.
02:23He does the podium at one, and then he'll apparently talk with us
02:27off to the side after that.
02:28And so I know that he feels very strongly about Barmore
02:32and keeping Barmore around.
02:33So again, I think at this point it's a fluid situation.
02:37Yeah, I just, I wonder how much it would change the dynamics
02:40of the draft and the rest of the offseason because presumably
02:45if they're looking at this years ahead of time, which they always are,
02:49if he's in their long-term plans and if for a multitude of reasons
02:54they decide, okay, Barmore is not going to work here
02:56because of, you know, everything that's going on,
03:00like how much do they have to pivot when it comes to the draft
03:03and it comes to free agency and the other things
03:06they'll be looking at in the offseason?
03:08Well, I think if Christian Barmore isn't here for the 2026 season,
03:11they need to, you know, create some, to your point,
03:14create some sort of contingency plan for that front seven moving forward,
03:18whether that's finding another body in free agency
03:20or going out and getting someone in the first couple rounds.
03:23There are going to be a couple of really intriguing defensive tackles
03:26who are talking today, and I don't think any one of them
03:29might have the same sort of juice as Barmore
03:31when, you know, when it comes to an on-field production level in 2026,
03:35but I think that there's some guys out there
03:37who you can see down the road as potential impact players
03:41for that front seven.
03:42And again, I'm not necessarily talking about defensive tackles,
03:44but if you go out and you find an edge guy,
03:48I'll pick Zion Young out of Missouri
03:50who had a really productive college career,
03:54you might think, okay, well, we can kind of slot him in there
03:57and that lessens the impact of losing a guy like Barmore up front.
04:01All right.
04:02What's...
