00:00Hello there and welcome to your Wednesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:06It's a mild day wherever you are but we'll see temperatures up to 1718 in the south helped
00:11with some sunshine.
00:12You can see the warmth extending across the country but still cloud and rain which will
00:17push eastwards and north eastwards through the day.
00:20Through Thursday yet again blustery showers, outbreaks of rain, stronger wind and then
00:25an intrusion of slightly colder air extends from the northwest through into Friday.
00:30Yes still some showers around or outbreaks of rain but things dry up on Friday night and
00:35into Saturday with a chance of a frost across some parts.
00:39For this morning then this is where the rain is across Northern Ireland, Scotland, clipping
00:44the west of Wales as well as the west country.
00:47Now further east the cloud is broken.
00:48We have seen some fog overnight across central and southern areas that will slowly lift so
00:53a bit of a murky start here and certainly the rain will be persistent across western and
00:58central parts of Scotland.
01:00Further east you'll see some sunshine through the morning into the afternoon helping temperatures
01:04rise very nicely through the day.
01:07The rain turns more showery towards more southern and western areas through the morning into the
01:12afternoon with the more persistent wet weather becoming confined to the north and the northwest
01:17of Scotland.
01:18Brighter skies remain across more central and eastern areas and here are your temperatures.
01:2212 or 13 across Scotland and Northern Ireland, mild for the time of year.
01:2615 for northern England as well as Wales but further east we'll see 17 or even 18.
01:31We haven't seen an 18 celsius since early November last year.
01:36Still a breeze coming in, a blustery wind towards more western areas but feeling mild certainly
01:41where you see that drier weather.
01:43So that's the picture through this afternoon.
01:46Through this evening notice some showery bursts still in the mix and they could turn heavy,
01:50particularly across more northern areas.
01:53Some clearer skies through the evening across eastern counties but cloud never too far away
01:57and it will extend eastwards.
01:59At the same time, high rainfall totals across the northwest highlands continue into the early
02:04hours of Thursday morning as this showery rain extends northeastwards.
02:08Waiting in the wings, more wet weather and that's how we see the beginning of Thursday.
02:13But it will be a mild start to the day.
02:16And for some central and eastern areas, a dry one.
02:19More clouds further west, some patchy rain and drizzle, a few showers around and then the
02:24rain arrives yet again.
02:25Northern Ireland, Scotland, West Wales, northwest England eventually extending down towards the
02:31Midlands as well as the west country and pushing ever northeastwards through the day.
02:34So many areas seeing some wet weather on Thursday, whether it's rain or showers.
02:40So through Thursday into Friday, that rain continues across England and Wales.
02:46We'll see showery bursts further north and it will turn colder into Friday.
02:50Eventually we'll see some drier weather early hours of Saturday morning, the risk of a frost
02:55but some brighter skies before more rain arrives from the west.
02:58Wherever you are, have a lovely day and I'll see you again soon.
