00:00In our topics in Colombia, the National Liberation Army criticized the geopolitical environment
00:04and the interests of political groups in the country who refused to listen to the voice of the people
00:08in the run-up to the upcoming presidential elections in May 2026.
00:12In a statement, the National Liberation Army said the country has entered a new electoral period
00:17in the midst of an ever-deepening structural crisis,
00:20as those who have governed it refused to seek solutions by listening to the voice of the majority,
00:24though the election campaign will only continue to recycle this crisis without finding any substantive solutions.
00:31What we see in the media and on social networks are election campaigns lacking collective proposals
00:37subject to disputes that violate ethics and rules, instilling hatred,
00:41and where anything goes is the norm applied by the bourgeoisie and its parties.
00:46The National Liberation Army also stated,
00:49Now to cover up their tricks and bad practices,
00:52the ELN is being blamed for wanting to affect the free exercise of the vote in the country.
00:57We would like to make it clear that the ELN does not control or guide the bodies and institutions of
01:03the electoral system,
01:04nor does it control the counting of votes.
01:07The ELN is not an electoral organization.
01:09It does not participate with candidates, nor does it finance any campaigns,
01:13as drug traffickers do through dozens of political clans.
01:16For the ELN, it is very important that the people vote freely for whoever they wish.
01:22Finally, the ELN emphasized during the electoral processes of the last four governments,
01:27the ELN has unilaterally implemented a ceasefire.
01:30Therefore, we will continue to act in accordance with our policy in favor of the people and their freedom.
