Wirral Council has confirmed bin collection changes that enable more recycling from April and introduce weekly food waste collections from July. Residents are urged to update their recycling habits.

00:01Wirral Council has set two key dates when bin collections will change for more than 320,000 people.
00:09From April the 6th, residents will be able to put more items in their grey recycling bins, including tins, foil
00:15and aerosol sprays,
00:17under a new system introduced by the authority to align with national recycling rules.
00:21Then, from July the 6th, the borough will introduce weekly food waste collections for the first time, scheduled on the
00:28same day as regular bin rounds.
00:30Grey and green bin collections will continue every two weeks on alternating weeks under the plan approved by councillors this
00:38year.
00:39Council leaders say they will support residents during the transition.
