A girl took the age-old excuse of a dog eating her homework to the next level when she had to tell her teachers her family PIG had eaten her work – and she had the footage to prove it. Taylee Tinsley, 14, from Phoenix, Arizona, let out a tiny scream when she walked into her kitchen-living room and discovered hours of hard work turned into "confetti homework" all over the floor. Minutes earlier, on January 23, Taylee's parents, Jacey and Marcus, couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the torn papers strewn everywhere. Right on cue, the family's pet pig, Polly Pocket, aged two, trotted into the living room looking very proud of herself, hoping for praise from Jacey for what she thought was a task completed. It was then that Jacey, Marcus and Taylee decided to watch back their security footage, where they could see Polly head over to Taylee's bag, remove the papers, and start chewing them up. The damage to Taylee's work was so extreme, with some papers completely missing and others destroyed, that Jacey needed to email Taylee's teachers and principal, explaining what happened. Some replied saying it was the first time they’d heard of a pig eating homework, while others could only respond with laughter at the situation. Polly Pocket is very much the personality of the house, said the family, who also share their life with mini pigs Penelope and Daisy on their family social media pages @thetinsleyherd.

00:00I swear I did my homework, but my pet pig ate it.
00:03Everybody's heard of a dog eating their homework, but never a pig.
00:06We had pigs for a few years, and it was very calm.
00:09And then comes Polly.
00:10She's the most chaotic, but also the sweetest and most cuddly out of all the pigs.
00:15And we know to keep her backpack up on, like, the half wall,
00:17because she will get things from, you know, close to the ground.
00:20But Polly's always one step ahead of us.
00:26Every zipper she learned to open.
00:28My notebooks were chewed up.
00:29My folders were, like, somehow slobbering and chewed up.
00:33Some pages were even gone.
00:34She physically ate the entire page on something, so...
00:38A lot of my math work, my ELA work, ripped in pieces and chewed up.
00:41I was just, like, minding my business, and I heard them yell,
00:44Polly!
00:45So I walked out, and, like, I just, like, stopped and phrased.
00:48After causing so much chaos, you'd think that she would feel bad about herself.
00:52But no, she was proud, looking at us, eyes wide,
00:56basically smiling, wanting us to see the beautiful work that she just did.
01:01I was trying to email them.
01:02I kept, like, believing it, because at first I was just going to, like, lie about it.
01:05I'm like, this just sounds too ridiculous to even say.
01:07And I just thought my teachers were going to kill me.
01:10They all came back with, like, the reactions of just laughter.
01:13They said it was the first time that they've ever heard that in their career,
01:16which I guess is understandable.
01:17My ELA teacher put the picture of Polly with the destroyed work on, like, the screen
01:21to show the class.
01:22It's just one of those things, living with kids.
01:25The truth is really an excuse.
01:27When I walked out, I was so mad.
01:29But 10 minutes later, she was snowing me on the bed.
01:32She's a butthole.
01:33She's my baby.
01:35Yeah.
