00:00Hi guys.
00:01Hey guys.
00:02My name is Carissa.
00:03And I'm Amber.
00:04And together we are...
00:05Naturally Gigi.
00:06So we started our YouTube channel about a year and a half ago.
00:09Yes.
00:10And we basically started from our big chop.
00:12And in our YouTube channel, it's from that moment until now.
00:17On our channel, Naturally Gigi, we have tutorials.
00:20We talk about our different concoctions and what products work best for us.
00:24So it's basically everything pertaining to natural hair on our channel.
00:27It's incredible to have our subscribers let us know that we also inspired them to go natural.
00:33To cut off all the relaxed ends.
00:34And that takes a lot of courage.
00:36You have to really have the self-confidence and know that you're beautiful.
00:40For us, it was a whole lifestyle change.
00:42I had to relearn how to do my hair completely.
00:45Having to find all these new products that your hair loves is a journey in itself.
00:50I just really like products that are very moisturizing.
00:53So I try to stick to shampoos that are actually sulfate-free.
00:57Sulfates like strip my hair of its natural moisture.
00:59I avoid washing my hair like no one's business.
01:02If a shampoo makes my hair look somewhat decent afterwards, it's alright with me.
01:05You don't have to do as much afterwards.
01:06Exactly.
01:07What I love about Evercurl is that I just need it that much.
01:10And I love the fact that it's a little bit cheaper than some of those other...
01:14Hello.
01:15Hello.
01:16Did you guys try the cleansing conditioner?
01:18Yes.
01:19That product is perfect for my co-wash.
01:20Co-washing is when you don't want to shampoo your hair, but you just need a re-wetening...
01:25To refresh it.
01:26Refresh our curls.
01:27It's amazing how we can all use these same products.
01:29Same product, but it does different things.
01:30Well, I'll tell you what, girls.
01:31Our next trip, we can just pack all our hair products in one suitcase and save space.
01:36I am an aspiring nurse, so I'm a nursing student.
01:39I'll be graduating by the end of the year.
01:41And I'm an aspiring CPA.
01:43I think that, you know, natural hair is so versatile and it is what you make it.
01:49You know, if you set out to do something professional, then you can always find a natural hairstyle that suits your setting.
01:56And if you notice, we have two different textures.
01:58So Amber shows how she styles and cares for her natural hair, which there are some slight variances between how she cares for her hair and how I care for my hair.
02:06So, you know, I'm going to be a nurse, so with my hair, I want something that's really pulled together, that's not in my face.
02:13So what I like to do is a style called the roll and tuck.
02:16My ends are not exposed, so it's also a good protective style, too.
02:20Show me how you do it, girl.
02:21Okay.
02:22What I do is I start by sectioning off my bangs.
02:25I start with a section about this big.
02:28I'm going to literally roll this under and tuck.
02:34Roll and tuck.
02:36So it's extremely simple, and you just do it to your whole head.
02:40And you kind of adjust it as you go to make, like, all the sides blend in together, since you're doing it section by section.
02:47So I just did my last section, and this is the finished product of the roll.
02:52This is the final step.
02:54And I simply just bobby pin this back behind my ear like that.
02:57And bam.
02:58Nice.
02:59It's for the everyday professional woman, and I love it.
03:03It's my go-to style.
03:04I like a little pizzazz.
03:06So this is the style that I wore today, and it's a flat twist on the side.
03:11And I'm just going to modify this.
03:13So I'm going to go ahead and re-moisturize my hair.
03:16And you already know how I feel about my leave-ins.
03:18I'm just going to apply a little bit to this section.
03:25Same thing with this big back section.
03:27I might need to take this one apart.
03:29So again, applying my leave-in and making sure my hair is moisturized.
03:34And like your style, I love the pin and tuck because it's also a protective style.
03:40So this is my final look using my leave-in by Evercurl, re-moistened, and pinned.
03:49So I call this bad boy right here the double French roll because the two rolls meet in the back.
03:55I can't leave the house without my finishing touch.
03:59So it looks like we're ready.
04:01Yes.
04:02So we have our professional looks pulled together.
04:04And that's one of the things that I just love about natural hair.
04:07We can be fun and flirty with our natural textures just out as they are.
04:12Or we can be more conservative and tuck them back.
04:15Have fun with your natural hair.
