U.S. stock futures were fluctuating on Wednesday following Tuesday’s negative close. Futures of major benchmark indices were mixed.

ADP's January employment showed that the U.S. private sector hiring slowed significantly, with employers adding a meager 22,000 jobs amid a broader three-year deceleration in job creation. Despite the lackluster hiring volume, wage growth remained resilient as annual pay for job-stayers rose 4.5%.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (ARCA: SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ: QQQ), which track the S&P 500 index and Nasdaq 100 index, respectively, were mixed in premarket on Wednesday. The SPY was up 0.13% at $690.41, while the QQQ declined 0.24% to $615.01.

00:00futures are mixed ahead of wednesday's open here but all of them are near unchanged
00:14s&p futures up 0.09 percent ahead of wednesday's open dow futures actually leading the way higher
00:21plus 0.18 percent and the nasdaq actually dragging here today minus 0.23 percent let's take a look at
00:30some cues from last session information technology communication services health care stocks led
00:38losses on tuesday as most s&p sectors declined though materials and energy shares managed to
00:45higher energy obviously a big theme uh for us here in 2026 and so far so good on that uh president
00:53trump signed a funding deal to end the four-day partial government shutdown though the brief
00:58closure has already triggered delays for critical economic indicators if the last shutdown was any
01:05indication this is nbd no big deal we should be able to make it through that meanwhile the 10-year
01:10treasury bond yielded 4.27 percent and the two-year bond was at 3.58 percent the cme group's fed watch
01:16tool projections so the market pricing in a 91.1 percent chance that the federal reserve holds
01:22interest rates steady at the next meeting in march this has slowly crept up since we got our first
01:28reading from the last meeting we have several stocks in focus here for you today and the first
01:35one is going to be amd perhaps the biggest report of the evening last night amd plunged six point excuse
01:42me 7.63 percent in the pre-market on wednesday despite reporting better than expected uh fourth
01:49quarter financial results and really quickly those fourth quarter results uh advanced micro devices q4
01:55adjusted eps of 153 beat the 132 estimate and sales of 10.27 billion beat the 9.66 billion estimate so a
02:03nice beat across the board there advanced micro devices cq1 sales at 9.5 to 10.1 billion that's
02:10versus the 9.3 billion estimate so even a guide higher there i suspect what's going on here is
02:17that because it's the ai theme and we've seen other eye-popping numbers when it comes to ai reports
02:23this just simply wasn't enough to instill enough confidence to take the next leg higher so despite a
02:29beat despite a guidance raise look like they're executing here i suspect the street wanted a
02:35little bit more and didn't get it and that's why you're seeing it pull back here today we'll continue
02:39to check in on amd here today the next stock on our list is going to be super micro computer the
02:44ticker here is smci uh shares jumped 12.27 percent after its fourth quarter earnings report which beat
02:51estimates on the top and bottom lines it expected third quarter revenue eps of 60 cents or excuse me it saw
02:58third quarter uh third quarter adjusted eps of 60 cents versus the 53 cent estimate and revenue of
03:0312.3 billion versus the 10.15 billion estimate also um smci has been one of those stocks that we've
03:13kind of talked about quite a bit here uh i know that the accounting stuff has really kind of scared
03:17people away it does look like maybe they're putting some things together here and if you take a look at
03:22the benzinga rankings 92nd percentile in growth 78 percentile in value and 98 percentile in quality
03:30with an intact short-term trend and an out of or and we're not in a medium or long-term trend so
03:36maybe smci um has a little bit room to run here i'd be curious on how you folks think about this
03:42especially after uh especially after what happened before with the accounting issues that it had
03:48the next stock on our list here is going to be alphabet the ticker is g-o-o-g or g-o-o-g-l
03:54depending on which one you like to trade shares rose 0.55 percent ahead of its earnings scheduled to
03:59be released after the closing bell here today analysts are expecting earnings of 263 per share
04:05on revenue of 111.31 billion um that also scores very well on the momentum and quality score by the
04:13way the next stock on our list is going to be enphase energy so it comes from the solar sector
04:18here the ticker is enph and that surged 23.39 percent after the company released its fourth
04:24quarter earnings report which beat estimates on the top and bottom line for completeness for
04:30completeness here enphase q4 adjusted eps of 71 cents beat the 58 cent estimate sales of 343.32
04:38million beat the 340.59 million estimate and enphase sees q1 sales of 270 to 300 million that was
04:47versed the 262 million estimate so a really good report there for enphase plus 20 percent here in
04:53the pre-market giddy up if you were in that uh solar might also have some more room uh to move here
04:59again that fits into our energy theme for 2026 the last stock on our list is going to be eli lily
05:06the ticker here is lly and it was 0.046 percent lower ahead of its earnings prior to them getting
05:13released this morning uh analysts were expecting 6.93 per share on revenue of 17.93 billion and as
05:20the chat has already alluded at least uh eli lily excuse me smoked those numbers eli lily q4 adjusted
05:27eps 754 beat the 667 estimate and sales of 19.3 billion beat the estimate of 17.9
05:369 billion uh eli lily sees full year 26 adjusted eps of 33.50 to 35 that was versed the 33.23 estimate
05:45so that was above the range it also sees sales of 80 to 83 million that excuse me 80 to 83 billion
05:51i beg your pardon that was versed the 77.62 billion estimate
