00:00New Orleans is such a beautiful place. I have a real connection with this city. It's almost
00:08like a love affair. The sights and the sounds keep me coming back every time and the special
00:12ingredient is the people of New Orleans. I'm here with McDonald's to take you on a tour of the music
00:18and entertainment scene that give this city life. Photography is a true passion of mine. It allows
00:26me to connect with the subject and absorb the city. I'll be doing just that as we check out
00:31Frenchman Street, a more local vibe than the touristy Bourbon Street. In this neighborhood,
00:35we'll explore four pulsating blocks of music, dancing, and all-around good vibes.
00:50Okay, so I'm here with McDonald's highlighting some of the best spots to visit while in New Orleans,
00:55and we're especially interested in the progressiveness of the music scene, and that's where you come in.
01:00First of all, thank you for having me, but New Orleans music, how it's changing throughout the
01:06generations, it's kind of just evolving, and so musicians like me that are born and raised in
01:12New Orleans, we're taking it to that next level and conferencing all that is Black American music
01:17as well as the future. It makes you move. It pulls you in. I love it. Okay, so being progressive
01:24and pushing new ideas to the forefront is being Black forward. How do you look forward to leaving
01:31your mark on the world? I want to leave my mark with the world saying, that person made me feel
01:35a difference, and that's how we have to do it together. We have to support each other.
01:39Well, I think you're doing a great job. So I don't know where my band's at right now,
01:44but they should be here soon, and I would love to do a piece for you. Like,
01:47I'd love to sing you a song, if that's okay. Awesome!
01:53That was amazing.
02:08Oh, thank you.
02:09I'm going to give you a hug.
02:11That's awesome.
02:12I'm glad you enjoyed it.
02:13Absolutely, I did.
02:14Wait, hold up.
02:15I think I hear a second line.
02:20This is just a preview of what you experience
02:22when you come down for Essence Fest.
02:24If you're lucky, you may even catch a second line band
02:27when you're in New Orleans.
02:28The people, the culture, and the traditions
02:31that feed the soul.
02:33But the music will push you black forward.
