00:00good afternoon everyone why are you accepting president trump's invitation to join his board
00:09of peace is it acceptable to pay a billion dollars to be a permanent member and as well
00:14do you have any concerns that this board could undermine the un system well a couple of things
00:19there one is that we will i mean there is a humanitarian tragedy in gaza that is ongoing
00:29and canada will make every effort possible to address the situation and provide at first
00:38first step to alleviate the stop the stop the suffering the intensification of the suffering
00:46alleviate the situation provide humanitarian aid stabilize ultimately move towards peace
00:52and a two-state solution so we will explore every avenue in order to do that
00:57second uh with respects to the specifics of the board of peace uh the president raised it with me
01:05um a few weeks ago uh i said you know in principle uh yes uh obviously consistent with what i just said
01:14i will do what i can do we will do as canada what we can do to achieve those core humanitarian
01:21objectives with respects to the specifics of the board of peace we haven't i haven't gone through
01:28we haven't gone through all the details of the structure um how it's going to work uh what financing
01:34is for etc and so we will work through through those in the coming days is a billion dollars reasonable
01:40though i i i mean that's one of the look the the modalities of that uh money how's it going all these
01:47questions canada wants money to have maximum impact let me underscore one thing let me underscore one
01:53basic thing about the situation we still do not have unimpeded aid flows humanitarian aid flows at
02:01scale to the people of gaza that needs to that is a precondition for moving uh moving forward on this
02:09so my question is how can canada accept this what are you going to do about it including adding to the
02:16military presence in in greenland and what are you going to tell mr trump what's your message to mr
02:22trump about this economic coercion if you meet him in davos uh thank you for this uh very precise
02:28questions um it's a serious situation uh and uh we're we're concerned we're concerned about this
02:35escalation uh to be absolutely clear uh the we always will support sovereignty and territorial
02:46integrity of countries wherever their geographic location is i i might add to bring it to uh the
02:55uh the the current discussions today as part of uh the discussions uh the amir and i had uh about a
03:03series of situations which would have a common element which is threats to or compromising uh territorial
03:10integrity and sovereignty ukraine uh being a very prominent example um but i'll bring it back now to
03:15greenland um so we will always support that um the future of greenland decisions about the future of
03:21greenland are for greenland and denmark to decide um and this and the security of greenland
03:31security is first and foremost for them but very much falls within the responsibilities of nato
03:38i've spoken to the prime minister of greenland um and there's a full commitment uh not surprisingly
03:43as is appropriate of nato partners to the security of uh of greenland that's the right way to address
03:50this security and the right way if i finish and then hand back in terms of whether it's uh development
03:57of critical critical minerals is to develop uh in partnership you didn't mention united states once i
04:02asked you what are you going to say to mr trump about this so economic i'm going to say everything i just
04:07said how's that how's that how's that how's that how's that how's that how's that how's that
04:21You
