00:00We're at a recovery hub here in Castlemaine in the Mount Alexander Shire where we've got
00:07a multi-agency response for all of those displaced residents from not just Harcourt but from
00:13all the surrounding region to come here for some support, some food, some clothes, anything
00:20that they need. We've got agencies here from Colibon Water, the Red Cross service, we've
00:26also got BlazeAid, Red Cross have got some of these little teddy bears for children just
00:33to console them. It looks like they've hand-knitted them which is really nice. We've got BlazeAid,
00:40we've got the Salvation Army and we've also got some counselling services for those residents
00:46who need that extra bit of help as well. Now the residents in Harcourt haven't been able
00:52to get in or out of the community just yet because there's a lot of trees down in the
01:00area and there was some damage to some critical infrastructure. So there are power teams that
01:06are on that road at the moment just trying to mop up the rest of that before they then
01:11give the all clear for residents to return to their homes permanently. It's empty now but
01:19the recovery hub will open at around 11 o'clock. We have spoken to some volunteers including
01:26the Lions Club youngest volunteer. He's only just 17 years old. His name is Royce. He's going to be
01:32operating the barbecue for those displaced residents who are feeling hungry. Take a listen to what he
01:39had to say. To be honest I'd kind of hope no one has to come here because you don't want anyone
01:44affected but for those who do I hope they can rebuild and get back onto their feet in a reasonable
01:49time frame. A lot of the volunteers here are obviously wanting to put up their hand and help
01:56out. The volunteers were saying that they've had such a high demand for people wanting to put their
02:01hand up and help those displaced residents in this community. We're hoping that we get an update from
02:09authorities as to whether or not those Harcourt residents will be able to go home permanently a little bit
02:15later on.
